And from the hadith of Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him)

وَمِنْ حَدِيثِ ثَوْبَانَ (١)، ٢٢٣٦٢ - حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ، وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَبِيلٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُرِّيَّ (٢) يَقُولُ: قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ: عَنْ أَبِي قَبِيلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُبْلَانِيُّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ لِيَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا بِهَذِهِ الْآيَةِ: {يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللهِ، إِنَّ اللهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ} [الزمر: ٥٣] فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَمَنْ أَشْرَكَ؟ فَسَكَتَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَالَ: " إِلَّا مَنْ أَشْرَكَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَشْرَكَ " ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتِ (٣)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) saying: Even if I were given the world and whatever is in it in exchange for this verse, I would not like it: "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves..." A man asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is the ruling for one who commits shirk (associates partners with Allah)?" At this, the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) remained silent. Then after a short while, he said three times, "Except for the polytheist."

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُحَادَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدٌ الشَّامِيُّ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الْمَنْبِهِيِّ (١) ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَافَرَ كَانَ آخِرُ عَهْدِهِ بِإِنْسَانٍ مِنْ أَهْلِهِ فَاطِمَةُ، وَأَوَّلُ مَنْ يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْهِ إِذَا قَدِمَ فَاطِمَةُ قَالَ: فَقَدِمَ مِنْ غَزَاةٍ لَهُ فَأَتَاهَا، فَإِذَا هُوَ بَمِسْحٍ عَلَى بَابِهَا، وَرَأَى عَلَى الْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَيْنِ قَلْبَيْنِ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ، فَرَجَعَ وَلَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهَا. فَلَمَّا رَأَتْ ذَلِكَ فَاطِمَةُ ظَنَّتْ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهَا مِنْ أَجْلِ مَا رَأَى، فَهَتَكَتْ السِّتْرَ، وَنَزَعَتِ الْقَلْبَيْنِ مِنَ الصَّبِيَّيْنِ فَقَطَعَتْهُمَا، فَبَكَى الصَّبِيَّانِ فَقَسَمَتْهُ بَيْنَهُمَا، فَانْطَلَقَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُمَا يَبْكِيَانِ، فَأَخَذَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْهُمَا فَقَالَ: " يَا ثَوْبَانُ، اذْهَبْ بِهَذَا إِلَى بَنِي فُلَانٍ أَهْلُ بَيْتٍ بِالْمَدِينَةِ، وَاشْتَرِ لِفَاطِمَةَ قِلَادَةً مِنْ عَصَبٍ وَسِوَارَيْنِ مِنْ عَاجٍ؛ فَإِنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ أَهْلُ بَيْتِي وَلَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ يَأْكُلُوا طَيِّبَاتِهِمْ فِي حَيَاتِهِمُ الدُّنْيَا " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) set out on a journey, the last person from his family whom he would meet was Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), and when he returned from a journey, the first person he would visit was also Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her). Once, the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) returned from a battle and, as usual, went to Fatimah’s (may Allah be pleased with her) house. When he arrived, he saw a curtain at the door of the house and silver bangles on the hands of Hasan and Husain (may Allah be pleased with them). The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) turned back without entering the house. Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) realized that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) had turned back after seeing these things, so she tore the curtain and broke the bangles off the children’s hands. The two children began to cry and, while crying, went to the Holy Prophet (ﷺ). The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) took the bangles—which Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) had given to them—and said to Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him): O Thawban! Take these to the house of so-and-so (referring to a family among the people of Madinah) and buy a Yemeni necklace and two ivory bangles for Fatimah, for these people are my Ahl al-Bayt, and I do not want them to consume their good things in this world, even if they are lawful.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى، وَأَبُو الْيَمَانِ وَهَذَا حَدِيثُ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ رَاشِدِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ الْأُمْلُوكِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَسِيرٍ لَهُ: " إِنَّا مُدْلِجُونَ فَلَا يُدْلِجَنَّ مُصْعِبٌ وَلَا مُضْعِفٌ ". فَأَدْلَجَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى نَاقَةٍ لَهُ صَعْبَةٍ فَسَقَطَ، فَانْدَقَّتْ فَخِذُهُ فَمَاتَ فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالصَّلَاةِ عَلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي فِي النَّاسِ: " إِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ لَا تَحِلُّ لِعَاصٍ، إِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ لَا تَحِلُّ لِعَاصٍ " ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ (١)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, during one of his journeys, the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "We will set out on the journey at night, so no one should ride on a wild or weak animal." Despite this instruction, a man mounted a rebellious she-camel. Along the way, he fell somewhere, his thigh bone broke, and he died. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) instructed the people to perform his funeral prayer themselves, then ordered a caller to announce among the people: "Paradise is not lawful for any disobedient person." He said this three times.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ شَدَّادٍ عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنْصَرِفَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ اسْتَغْفَرَ، ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " اللهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ. تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ " (١)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) finished the prayer, he would seek forgiveness three times and then make this supplication: O Allah! You are the True Source of peace, and from You alone comes peace. O Possessor of Majesty and Honor! Your Being is greatly blessed.

حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ يَتَكَفَّلُ لِي بِوَاحِدَةٍ وَأَتَكَفَّلُ لَهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ ". ١٠ قَالَ ثَوْبَانُ: أَنَا. قَالَ: " لَا تَسْأَلِ النَّاسَ " يَعْنِي، ، شَيْئًا. قَالَ: نَعَمْ. قَالَ: فَكَانَ لَا يَسْأَلُ (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever guarantees me one thing, I guarantee him Paradise. Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) offered himself. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Do not ask people for anything. He submitted: Alright. Thus, after that, he never asked anyone for anything.

حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ المُهَاجِرِ، عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ اللَّخْمِيِّ قَالَ: بَعَثَ عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ إِلَى أَبِي سَلَّامٍ الْحَبَشِيِّ فَحُمِلَ إِلَيْهِ عَلَى الْبَرِيدِ لِيَسْأَلَهُ عَنِ الْحَوْضِ، فَقُدِمَ بِهِ عَلَيْهِ فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ثَوْبَانَ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " إِنَّ حَوْضِي مِنْ عَدَنَ إِلَى عَمَّانَ الْبَلْقَاءِ، مَاؤُهُ أَشَدُّ بَيَاضًا مِنَ اللَّبَنِ، وَأَحْلَى مِنَ الْعَسَلِ، وَأَكَاوِيبُهُ عَدَدُ النُّجُومِ مَنْ شَرِبَ مِنْهُ شَرْبَةً لَمْ يَظْمَأْ بَعْدَهَا أَبَدًا. أَوَّلُ النَّاسِ وُرُودًا عَلَيْهِ فُقَرَاءُ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ " فَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ: مَنْ هُمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: " هُمُ الشُّعْثُ رُءُوسًا الدُّنْسُ، ، ثِيَابًا الَّذِينَ لَا يَنْكِحُونَ الْمُتَنَعِّمَاتِ، وَلَا تُفْتَحُ لَهُمْ أَبْوَابُ السُّدَدِ " فَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ: لَقَدْ نَكَحْتُ الْمُتَنَعِّمَاتِ، وَفُتِحَتْ لِي السُّدَدُ إِلَّا أَنْ يَرْحَمَنِي اللهُ وَاللهِ لَا جَرَمَ أَنْ لَا أَدْهُنَ رَأْسِي حَتَّى يَشْعَثَ، وَلَا أَغْسِلَ ثَوْبِي الَّذِي يَلِي جَسَدِي حَتَّى يَتَّسِخَ (١)، ،

Umar bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, once sent a message through a courier to Abu Salam Habashi, may Allah have mercy on him. He wanted to ask Abu Salam about the Hawd (Pond) of Kawthar. So he came. Umar bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, asked him about it. He said, "I heard this hadith from Thawban, may Allah be pleased with him, that I heard the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'The length and width of my Hawd is as much as the distance between Aden and Amman Balqa. Its water will be whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. Its cups will be as numerous as the stars in the sky. Whoever drinks a sip from it will never feel thirsty again. The first to come to this Hawd will be the poor Muhajireen.' Umar Farooq, may Allah be pleased with him, upon hearing this, submitted in the court of the Prophet, 'O Messenger of Allah! Who will those people be?' The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, replied, 'They will be those whose hair is disheveled and whose clothes are dirty, who could not marry women brought up in luxury, and for whom closed doors are not opened.' Umar bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, upon hearing this, said, 'I have married women brought up in luxury, and closed doors are opened for me. Now only Allah can have mercy on me. By Allah, from now on I will not apply oil to my head until it becomes disheveled, and I will not wash the clothes I wear on my body until they become dirty.'"

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْخٌ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ قَتَلَ صَغِيرًا أَوْ كَبِيرًا، أَوْ أَحْرَقَ نَخْلًا، أَوْ قَطَعَ شَجَرَةً مُثْمِرَةً، أَوْ ذَبَحَ شَاةً لِإِهَابِهَا لَمْ يَرْجِعْ كَفَافًا " (١)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) saying: Whoever kills a minor child or an extremely elderly man in the battlefield, or sets fire to a garden, or cuts down a fruit-bearing tree, or slaughters a goat merely to obtain its skin, then he has not returned equally (i.e., he has not returned with equal recompense).

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، وَأَبَانُ قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ فَارَقَ الرُّوحُ الْجَسَدَ وَهُوَ بَرِيءٌ مِنْ ثَلَاثٍ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ: الْكِبْرِ، وَالدَّيْنِ، وَالْغُلُولِ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever's soul departs from his body in such a state that he is free from three things will enter Paradise: arrogance, debt, and dishonesty regarding war booty.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ قَالَ: قِيلَ لِثَوْبَانَ حَدِّثْنَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: تَكْذِبُونَ عَلَيَّ، ، وَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يَسْجُدُ لِلَّهِ سَجْدَةً إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ اللهُ بِهَا دَرَجَةً وَحَطَّ عَنْهُ بِهَا خَطِيئَةً " (١)،

Salim bin Abi Al-Ja'd (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a person asked Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) to narrate a hadith from the Prophet (ﷺ). He replied, "You people attribute lies to me as you do to others. I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: 'Whenever any Muslim performs a prostration for the sake of Allah's pleasure, Allah raises him one degree and forgives one of his sins.'"

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ غَنْمٍ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: The fast of both the one who applies cupping and the one to whom it is applied is broken.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجُودِيِّ، عَنْ بَلْجٍ، عَنْ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ الْمَهْرِيِّ قَالَ: وَكَانَ قَاصَّ النَّاسِ بِقُسْطَنْطِينِيَّةَ قَالَ: قِيلَ لِثَوْبَانَ حَدِّثْنَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَاءَ فَأَفْطَرَ " (١)، ،

Abu Shabiyah Mehri, may Allah have mercy on him, who used to preach in Constantinople, says: Once a person requested Thawban, may Allah be pleased with him, to narrate a hadith from the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. He replied: I have seen that once the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, vomited, so the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, broke his fast.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي (١) أَسْمَاءَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِذَا عَادَ الرَّجُلُ الْمُسْلِمُ أَخَاهُ الْمُسْلِمَ فَهُوَ فِي مَخْرَفَةِ الْجَنَّةِ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: When a Muslim man visits his Muslim brother who is ill, he walks in the gardens of Paradise.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ: مَا ثَوْبَانُ؟ قَالَ: مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ يَتَكَفَّلُ لِي أَنْ لَا يَسْأَلَ شَيْئًا وَأَتَكَفَّلُ لَهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ؟ " فَقَالَ ثَوْبَانُ: أَنَا فَكَانَ لَا يَسْأَلُ أَحَدًا شَيْئًا (١)، ،

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " إِذَا عَادَ الرَّجُلُ أَخَاهُ فَإِنَّهُ فِي أَخْرَافِ الْجَنَّةِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ " (١)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: When a Muslim visits his Muslim brother who is ill, he walks among the gardens of Paradise until he returns.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَطَنٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ، وَمَنْ شَهِدَ دَفْنَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ ". قِيلَ: وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ؟ قَالَ: " أَصْغَرُهُمَا مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever participates in a funeral will receive the reward of one qirat, and whoever remains until the burial will receive the reward of two qirats. Someone asked, "What is a qirat?" He replied, "Its minimum measure is equal to Mount Uhud."

حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْأَوْزَاعِيَّ يَقُولُ: حَدَّثَنِي الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ الْمُعَيْطِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي مَعْدَانُ بْنُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ الْيَعْمُرِيُّ قَالَ: لَقِيتُ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ: أَخْبِرْنِي بِعَمَلٍ أَعْمَلُهُ يُدْخِلُنِي اللهُ بِهِ الْجَنَّةَ، أَوْ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: بِأَحَبِّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى اللهِ، فَسَكَتَ، ثُمَّ سَأَلْتُهُ فَسَكَتَ ثُمَّ سَأَلْتُهُ (٢) الثَّالِثَةَ فَقَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: " عَلَيْكَ بِكَثْرَةِ السُّجُودِ؛ فَإِنَّكَ لَا، ، تَسْجُدُ لِلَّهِ سَجْدَةً إِلَّا رَفَعَكَ اللهُ بِهَا دَرَجَةً، وَحَطَّ عَنْكَ بِهَا خَطِيئَةً " قَالَ: مَعْدَانُ: ثُمَّ لَقِيتُ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ لِي: مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ لِي ثَوْبَانُ (١)،

Ma'dan Ya'mari (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I met Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him), so I requested, "Please tell me of a deed that is most beloved to Allah, by virtue of which Allah will admit me into Paradise." At this, he remained silent. After I asked three times and he remained silent, he said, "I also asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) this same question, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Make abundant prostration (sujood) obligatory upon yourself, for whenever you perform a prostration for the sake of Allah's pleasure, Allah will raise you one degree and erase one sin because of it.'" Ma'dan says, "Then I met Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked him the same question, and he gave me the same answer that Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) had given."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اسْتَقِيمُوا وَلَنْ تُحْصُوا، وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ خَيْرَ أَعْمَالِكُمُ الصَّلَاةُ، وَلَنْ يُحَافِظَ عَلَى الْوُضُوءِ إِلَّا مُؤْمِنٌ " (٢)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Remain steadfast, for you will never be able to encompass all deeds. However, remember that your best deed is prayer, and only a believer maintains regular ablution.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ سَأَلَتْ زَوْجَهَا الطَّلَاقَ مِنْ غَيْرِ (١) بَأْسٍ فَحَرَامٌ عَلَيْهَا رَائِحَةُ الْجَنَّةِ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Any woman who seeks divorce from her husband without a specific reason, the fragrance of Paradise will be forbidden for her.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ أَفْضَلَ دِينَارٍ دِينَارٌ، ، أَنْفَقَهُ رَجُلٌ عَلَى عِيَالِهِ، أَوْ عَلَى دَابَّتِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، أَوْ عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: The best dinar is the one which a man spends on his family, or spends on his mount in the way of Allah, or spends on his companions in the way of Allah.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ يَعِيشَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ: " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَاءَ فَأَفْطَرَ " قَالَ: فَلَقِيتُ ثَوْبَانَ فِي مَسْجِدِ دِمَشْقَ فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ: أَنَا صَبَبْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَضُوءَهُ (٢)،

It is narrated from Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) vomited, due to which the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) broke his fast. The narrator says that once I met Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) in the Prophet's Mosque, so I asked him about this as well. He said that I was pouring water for the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) for ablution.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَى عَلَى رَجُلٍ يَحْتَجِمُ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَقَالَ: " أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ " (٣)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) passed by a man who was having cupping done during the month of Ramadan. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: The one who does cupping and the one who gets it done, both their fasts are broken.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ ثَوْرٍ، عَنْ رَاشِدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ،، ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: " بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَرِيَّةً فَأَصَابَهُمُ الْبَرْدُ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمُوا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَكَوْا إِلَيْهِ مَا أَصَابَهُمْ مِنَ الْبَرْدِ فَأَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ يَمْسَحُوا عَلَى الْعَصَائِبِ وَالتَّسَاخِينِ " (١)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) sent an army somewhere. On the way, the season turned cold. When those people returned to the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), they complained to him about the hardship caused by the severity of the cold. So the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) instructed them to wipe over their turbans and leather socks.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ، فَإِنْ شَهِدَ دَفْنَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ، الْقِيرَاطُ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever participates in a funeral will receive one qirat of reward, and whoever remains until the burial will receive two qirats, and the measure of one qirat is equal to Mount Uhud.

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ يَتَقَبَّلُ لِي بِوَاحِدَةٍ وَأَتَقَبَّلُ لَهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ؟ " قَالَ: قُلْتُ: أَنَا. قَالَ: " لَا تَسْأَلِ النَّاسَ، ، شَيْئًا " فَكَانَ ثَوْبَانُ يَقَعُ سَوْطُهُ وَهُوَ رَاكِبٌ، فَلَا يَقُولُ لِأَحَدٍ نَاوِلْنِيهِ حَتَّى يَنْزِلَ فَيَتَنَاوَلَهُ (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever guarantees me one thing, I will guarantee him Paradise. Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) offered himself. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Do not ask people for anything. He replied: Alright. So after that, he never asked anyone for anything, even if he was riding and his whip fell, he would not ask anyone to pick it up; he would get down himself and pick it up.

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عِيسَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيُحْرَمُ الرِّزْقَ بِالذَّنْبِ يُصِيبُهُ، وَلَا يَرُدُّ الْقَدَرَ إِلَّا الدُّعَاءُ، وَلَا يَزِيدُ فِي الْعُمُرِ إِلَّا الْبِرُّ " (٢)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Sometimes a person is deprived of sustenance because of a sin that he commits, and nothing can avert destiny except supplication, and nothing increases life except righteousness.

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الرَّايَاتِ السُّودَ قَدْ جَاءَتْ مِنْ قِبَلِ خُرَاسَانَ، فَأْتُوهَا؛ فَإِنَّ فِيهَا خَلِيفَةَ اللهِ الْمَهْدِيَّ " (١)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: When you see black flags coming from the direction of Khurasan, then join them, for among them will be Allah's Caliph, Imam Mahdi (may Allah be pleased with him).

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اسْتَقِيمُوا لِقُرَيْشٍ مَا اسْتَقَامُوا لَكُمْ " (١)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "As long as the Quraysh remain upright with you, you also remain upright with them."

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا عَاصِمٌ (١) ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيِّ،، ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ عَادَ مَرِيضًا لَمْ يَزَلْ فِي خُرْفَةِ الْجَنَّةِ ". قِيلَ: وَمَا خُرْفَةُ الْجَنَّةِ؟ قَالَ: " جَنَاهَا " (١)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: When a Muslim visits his Muslim brother who is ill, he walks among the gardens of Paradise until he returns.

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، عَنْ هَمَّامٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ فَارَقَ الرُّوحُ الْجَسَدَ وَهُوَ بَرِيءٌ مِنْ ثَلَاثٍ: الْكِبْرِ وَالْغُلُولِ، وَالدَّيْنِ فَهُوَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " أَوْ " وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever's soul departs from his body in such a state that he is free from three things, he will enter Paradise: arrogance, debt, and dishonesty in war booty.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ، عَنْ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: ذَبَحَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُضْحِيَّةً. ثُمَّ قَالَ: " يَا ثَوْبَانُ أَصْلِحْ لَحْمَ هَذِهِ الشَّاةِ " قَالَ: فَمَا زِلْتُ أُطْعِمُهُ مِنْهَا حَتَّى قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) slaughtered a sacrificial animal and said, "Thawban! Take good care of this goat's meat." So I continued to serve its meat to the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) until he arrived in Madinah Munawwarah.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: لَمَّا أُنْزِلَتْ {الَّذِينَ يَكْنِزُونَ الذَّهَبَ وَالْفِضَّةَ، وَلَا يُنْفِقُونَهَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ} [التوبة: ٣٤] قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ. فَقَالَ: بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِهِ قَدْ نَزَلَ فِي الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ مَا نَزَلَ، فَلَوْ أَنَّا عَلِمْنَا أَيُّ الْمَالِ خَيْرٌ اتَّخَذْنَاهُ فَقَالَ: " أَفْضَلُهُ لِسَانًا ذَاكِرًا، وَقَلْبًا شَاكِرًا، وَزَوْجَةً مُؤْمِنَةً، ، تُعِينُهُ عَلَى إِيمَانِهِ " (١)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that when this verse was revealed: "Those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend it in the way of Allah..." — he says that at that time we were accompanying the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) on a journey. So a companion (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: The command regarding gold and silver has been revealed, but if we could know which wealth is best, we would keep that with us. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: The best wealth is a tongue that remembers (Allah), a grateful heart, and a Muslim wife who helps him in his faith.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّمَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْأَئِمَّةَ الْمُضِلِّينَ " (١)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: I fear misleading leaders for my Ummah.

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّمَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْأَئِمَّةَ الْمُضِلِّينَ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: I fear misleading leaders for my Ummah.

وَبِهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ اللهَ زَوَى لِي الْأَرْضَ أَوْ قَالَ: إِنَّ رَبِّي زَوَى لِي الْأَرْضَ، فَرَأَيْتُ مَشَارِقَهَا وَمَغَارِبَهَا، وَإِنَّ مُلْكَ أُمَّتِي سَيَبْلُغُ مَا زَوَى لِي مِنْهَا، وَإِنِّي أُعْطِيتُ الْكَنْزَيْنِ: الْأَحْمَرَ وَالْأَبْيَضَ، وَإِنِّي سَأَلْتُ رَبِّي لِأُمَّتِي أَنْ لَا يَهْلِكُوا بِسَنَةٍ بِعَامَّةٍ، وَلَا يُسَلِّطَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوًّا مِنْ سِوَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ يَسْتَبِيحُ بَيْضَتَهُمْ، وَإِنَّ رَبِّي قَالَ: " يَا مُحَمَّدُ، إِنِّي إِذَا قَضَيْتُ قَضَاءً فَإِنَّهُ لَا يُرَدُّ. ١٠، وَقَالَ يُونُسُ لَا يُرَدُّ، وَإِنِّي أَعْطَيْتُكَ لِأُمَّتِكَ، أَنْ لَا أُهْلِكَهُمْ بِسَنَةٍ بِعَامَّةٍ، وَلَا أُسَلِّطَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوًّا مِنْ سِوَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ يَسْتَبِيحُ بَيْضَتَهُمْ،، ، وَلَوْ اجْتَمَعَ عَلَيْهِمْ مَنْ بَيْنَ أَقْطَارِهَا، أَوْ قَالَ: مَنْ بِأَقْطَارِهَا، حَتَّى يَكُونَ بَعْضُهُمْ يَسْبِي بَعْضًا، وَإِنَّمَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْأَئِمَّةَ الْمُضِلِّينَ، وَإِذَا وُضِعَ فِي أُمَّتِي السَّيْفُ لَمْ يُرْفَعْ عَنْهُمْ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَلَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَلْحَقَ قَبَائِلُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي بِالْمُشْرِكِينَ، حَتَّى تَعْبُدَ قَبَائِلُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي الْأَوْثَانَ، وَإِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ فِي أُمَّتِي كَذَّابُونَ ثَلَاثُونَ كُلُّهُمْ يَزْعُمُ أَنَّهُ نَبِيٌّ، وَأَنَا خَاتَمُ النَّبِيِّينَ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي، وَلَا تَزَالُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي عَلَى الْحَقِّ ظَاهِرِينَ لَا يَضُرُّهُمْ مَنْ خَالَفَهُمْ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ أَمْرُ اللهِ " (١)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Allah Almighty gathered the entire earth for me, so I saw its east and its west, and the rule of my Ummah will reach as far as the area that was gathered and shown to me. And I was given two treasures, the red and the white. And I requested my Lord for my Ummah that He not destroy it by a general famine, nor impose upon them an external enemy who would annihilate them utterly. So my Lord said: O Muhammad! When I make a decision, none can overturn it. I have accepted your supplication for your Ummah that I will not destroy them by a general famine, nor will I impose upon them an external enemy who will cause widespread slaughter among them, even if their enemies gather against them from all corners of the world, until they themselves begin to destroy one another. And I fear for my Ummah from misguided leaders. And when the sword is placed among my Ummah, it will not be lifted from them until the Day of Resurrection. And the Hour will not be established until some tribes of my Ummah join the polytheists, and until some tribes of my Ummah begin to worship idols. And soon there will appear thirty great liars in my Ummah, each of whom will claim to be a prophet, though I am the last prophet and there will be no prophet after me. And a group from my Ummah will always remain fighting for the truth, always prevailing, and no one who opposes them will be able to harm them until the command of Allah comes.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ، حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَالِمٍ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ، عَنْ لُقْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْوُصَابِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى بْنِ عَدِيٍّ الْبَهْرَانِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " عِصَابَتَانِ مِنْ أُمَّتِي أَحْرَزَهُمُ اللهُ مِنَ النَّارِ: عِصَابَةٌ تَغْزُو الْهِنْدَ، وَعِصَابَةٌ تَكُونُ مَعَ عِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ " (١)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: There are two groups of my Ummah whom Allah has protected from Hell. One group will wage jihad in India and the other group will be with Isa (peace be upon him).

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ (١) ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْزُوقٌ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحِمْصِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيُّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " يُوشِكُ أَنْ تَدَاعَى عَلَيْكُمُ الْأُمَمُ مِنْ كُلِّ أُفُقٍ كَمَا تَدَاعَى الْأَكَلَةُ عَلَى قَصْعَتِهَا ". ١٠ قَالَ: قُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَمِنْ قِلَّةٍ بِنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ؟ قَالَ: " أَنْتُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ كَثِيرٌ، وَلَكِنْ تَكُونُونَ (٢) غُثَاءً كَغُثَاءِ السَّيْلِ، تُنْتَزَعُ الْمَهَابَةُ مِنْ قُلُوبِ عَدُوِّكُمْ، وَيَجْعَلُ فِي قُلُوبِكُمُ الْوَهْنَ ". قَالَ: قُلْنَا: وَمَا الْوَهْنُ؟ قَالَ: " حُبُّ الْحَيَاةِ وَكَرَاهِيَةُ الْمَوْتِ " (٣)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "A time will soon come when people from every corner of the world, from different nations, will invite one another against you just as people are invited to a dish." We asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Will this happen because our numbers will be few at that time?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "At that time, your numbers will be many, but you will be like the foam or scum on the surface of the sea. The awe of you will be removed from the hearts of your enemies, and 'wahn' will be cast into your hearts." We asked, "What is 'wahn'?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Love of the world and dislike of death."

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنِي زَيْدُ بْنُ سَلَّامٍ، أَنَّ جَدَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ أَبَا أَسْمَاءَ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ: ابْنَةَ هُبَيْرَةَ دَخَلَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَفِي يَدِهَا خَوَاتِيمُ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، يُقَالُ لَهَا الْفَتَخُ، فَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَعُ يَدَهَا بِعُصَيَّةٍ مَعَهُ يَقُولُ لَهَا: " أَيَسُرُّكِ أَنْ يَجْعَلَ اللهُ فِي يَدِكِ خَوَاتِيمَ مِنْ نَارٍ؟ " فَأَتَتْ فَاطِمَةَ فَشَكَتْ إِلَيْهَا مَا صَنَعَ بِهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: وَانْطَلَقْتُ أَنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَامَ خَلْفَ الْبَابِ، وَكَانَ إِذَا اسْتَأْذَنَ قَامَ خَلْفَ الْبَابِ قَالَ: فَقَالَتْ لَهَا فَاطِمَةُ: انْظُرِي إِلَى هَذِهِ السِّلْسِلَةِ الَّتِي أَهْدَاهَا إِلَيَّ أَبُو حَسَنٍ. قَالَ: وَفِي يَدِهَا سِلْسِلَةٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: " يَا فَاطِمَةُ بِالْعَدْلِ أَنْ يَقُولَ النَّاسُ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَفِي يَدِكِ سِلْسِلَةٌ مِنْ نَارٍ؟ " ثُمَّ عَذَمَهَا عَذْمًا شَدِيدًا، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ وَلَمْ يَقْعُدْ، فَأَمَرَتْ بِالسِّلْسِلَةِ فَبِيعَتْ، ، فَاشْتَرَتْ بِثَمَنِهَا عَبْدًا فَأَعْتَقَتْهُ، فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ بِذَلِكَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَبَّرَ وَقَالَ: " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي نَجَّى فَاطِمَةَ مِنَ النَّارِ " (١)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a woman named Bint Hubayrah came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). She had gold rings on her hand, which were called "futukh." The Prophet (ﷺ) kept moving the rings on her hand with his stick and kept saying, "Do you like that Allah should put rings of fire on your hand?" She then went to Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) and complained about the behavior of the Prophet (ﷺ). Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) says that meanwhile, I set out with the Prophet (ﷺ). When the Prophet (ﷺ) reached the house, he stood behind the door, "which was the blessed habit of the Prophet (ﷺ) when seeking permission." At that time, Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) was saying to that woman, "Look at this chain which Abu Hasan has given me as a gift." She had a gold chain in her hand. The Prophet (ﷺ) entered the house and said, "O Fatimah, the matter should be just so that tomorrow people do not point fingers at Fatimah bint Muhammad (ﷺ). So how is it that you have this chain of fire in your hand?" Then the Prophet (ﷺ) made her feel intense remorse and left without sitting there. Upon this, Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) ordered that the chain be sold, so it was sold, and with its price, Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) bought a slave and set him free. When the Prophet (ﷺ) heard this, he happily said "Allahu Akbar" and said, "Thanks be to Allah, who saved Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) from the fire."

حَدَّثَنَا الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: " لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الرَّاشِيَ وَالْمُرْتَشِيَ وَالرَّائِشَ " يَعْنِي: الَّذِي يَمْشِي بَيْنَهُمَا (١)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) cursed the one who takes bribes, the one who gives bribes, and the one who mediates between them.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَيْمُونٌ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُرَئِيُّ (١) التَّمِيمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ،، ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ سَرَّهُ النَّسَاءُ فِي الْأَجَلِ، وَالزِّيَادَةُ فِي الرِّزْقِ فَلْيَصِلْ رَحِمَهُ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever desires a long life and abundance in sustenance should maintain the ties of kinship.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَيْمُونٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَيَلْتَمِسُ مَرْضَاةَ اللهِ فَلَا يَزَالُ بِذَلِكَ، فَيَقُولُ اللهُ لِجِبْرِيلَ: إِنَّ فُلَانًا عَبْدِي يَلْتَمِسُ أَنْ يُرْضِيَنِي أَلَا وَإِنَّ رَحْمَتِي عَلَيْهِ، فَيَقُولُ جِبْرِيلُ: رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَى فُلَانٍ، وَيَقُولُهَا حَمَلَةُ الْعَرْشِ، وَيَقُولُهَا مَنْ حَوْلَهُمْ حَتَّى يَقُولَهَا أَهْلُ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ، ثُمَّ تَهْبِطُ لَهُ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: When a person seeks the pleasure of Allah Almighty and remains persistent in it, Allah Almighty says to Jibreel (peace be upon him): "My such-and-such servant is seeking My pleasure; be aware that My mercy is directed towards him." Jibreel (peace be upon him) says, "May Allah's mercy be upon such-and-such person." The bearers of the Throne also say the same, and the angels around them also begin to say the same, until the inhabitants of the seven heavens begin to say the same. Then this matter is sent down to the earth.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَيْمُونٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَا تُؤْذُوا عِبَادَ اللهِ، وَلَا تُعَيِّرُوهُمْ، وَلَا تَطْلُبُوا عَوْرَاتِهِمْ؛ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ طَلَبَ عَوْرَةَ أَخِيهِ الْمُسْلِمِ طَلَبَ اللهُ عَوْرَتَهُ حَتَّى يَفْضَحَهُ فِي بَيْتِهِ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Do not trouble the servants of Allah, do not disgrace them, and do not seek out their faults, for whoever seeks out the faults of his Muslim brother, Allah will seek out his faults, until He disgraces him within his own house.

حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " وَلَا تَزَالُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي عَلَى الْحَقِّ ظَاهِرِينَ، لَا يَضُرُّهُمْ مَنْ خَذَلَهُمْ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ أَمْرُ اللهِ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: A group from my Ummah will always continue to strive for the truth, always remaining dominant, and no one who opposes them will be able to harm them until the command of Allah comes.

حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا قَدْ رَفَعَهُ، قَالَ عَفَّانُ: عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " عَائِدُ الْمَرِيضِ فِي مَخْرَفَةِ الْجَنَّةِ " (١) وَلَمْ يَشُكَّ فِيهِ ابْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) in a marfu’ form that when a Muslim man visits his Muslim brother who is ill, he walks in the gardens of Paradise.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاْقَ (١) ، عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، حَدَّثَنِي ثَوْبَانُ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ يَضْمَنُ لِي وَاحِدَةً وَأَضْمَنُ لَهُ الْجَنَّةَ؟ " قَالَ: قُلْتُ: أَنَا. يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ. قَالَ: " لَا تَسْأَلِ النَّاسَ شَيْئًا " قَالَ: فَكَانَ سَوْطُ ثَوْبَانَ يَسْقُطُ وَهُوَ عَلَى بَعِيرِهِ فَيُنِيخُ حَتَّى يَأْخُذَهُ، وَمَا يَقُولُ لِأَحَدٍ نَاوِلْنِيهِ (٢)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever guarantees me one thing, I will guarantee him Paradise. Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) offered himself. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Do not ask people for anything. He replied: Alright. So after that, he never asked anyone for anything, even if he was riding and his whip fell, he would not ask anyone to pick it up; he would get down himself and pick it up.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَفْضَلُ دِينَارٍ [دِينَارٌ] (٣) يُنْفِقُهُ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى عِيَالِهِ، ثُمَّ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ، ثُمَّ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، ثُمَّ عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ " قَالَ أَبُو قِلَابَةَ: فَيَبْدَأُ بِالْعِيَالِ، وقَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ،: دِينَارٌ أَنْفَقَهُ رَجُلٌ عَلَى، ، دَابَّتِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: The best dinar is the one which a man spends on his family, or spends on his mount in the way of Allah, or spends on his companions in the way of Allah.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ الْمُسْلِمَ إِذَا عَادَ أَخَاهُ الْمُسْلِمَ لَمْ يَزَلْ فِي مَخْرَفَةِ الْجَنَّةِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ " (٢)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: When a Muslim man visits his Muslim brother who is ill, he walks through the gardens of Paradise.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الطَّالَقَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيُّ،، ، حَدَّثَنِي ثَوْبَانُ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنْصَرِفَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ. قَالَ: " أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ "، ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: " اللهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ، وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ تَبَارَكْتَ ذَا الْجِلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) finished the prayer, he would seek forgiveness three times and then make this supplication: O Allah! You are the True Source of peace, and from You alone comes peace. O Possessor of Majesty and Honor! Your Being is greatly blessed.

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " أَنَا بِعُقْرِ حَوْضِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَذُودُ عَنْهُ النَّاسَ لِأَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ، وَأَضْرِبُهُمْ بِعَصَايَ حَتَّى يَرْفَضَّ عَنْهُمْ ". قَالَ: قِيلَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَا سَعَتُهُ؟ قَالَ: " مِنْ مَقَامِي إِلَى عُمَانَ يَغُتُّ فِيهِ مِيزَابَانِ يَمُدَّانِهِ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: On the Day of Resurrection, I will be at the rear part of my reservoir and I will be pushing people away for the people of Yemen, and I will push them away with my staff until they are separated. Someone asked the Noble Prophet (ﷺ): How wide will it be? The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Equal to the distance from here to Oman, in which two channels will flow and will increase its water.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْبَقِيعِ فِي ثَمَانِ عَشْرَةَ لَيْلَةً خَلَتْ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ بِرَجُلٍ يَحْتَجِمُ فَقَالَ: " أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ " (١)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) once passed by a man who was having cupping done in Jannat al-Baqi‘ on the eighteenth day of Ramadan. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The fast of the one who does cupping and the one who gets cupped is broken.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مَعْدَانُ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: حَدِّثْنَا حَدِيثًا يَنْفَعُنَا اللهُ بِهِ. قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَسْجُدُ لِلَّهِ سَجْدَةً، إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ اللهُ بِهَا دَرَجَةً وَحَطَّ عَنْهُ بِهَا خَطِيئَةً " (١)،

Ma'dan (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I requested Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) to narrate to me a hadith by which Allah may grant me benefit. He said: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) say: Whoever performs one prostration for the pleasure of Allah, Allah will raise him one degree because of it and forgive one of his sins.

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْحَارِثِ الذِّمَارِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ فَشَهْرٌ بِعَشَرَةِ أَشْهُرٍ، وَصِيَامُ سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ بَعْدَ الْفِطْرِ فَذَلِكَ تَمَامُ صِيَامِ السَّنَةِ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan, it will be equal to ten months, and by fasting six days after Eid al-Fitr, the reward will be as if he has fasted for the whole year.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عِيسَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " لَا يَرُدُّ الْقَدَرَ إِلَّا الدُّعَاءُ، وَلَا يَزِيدُ فِي الْعُمُرِ إِلَّا الْبِرُّ، وَإِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَيُحْرَمُ الرِّزْقَ بِالذَّنْبِ يُصِيبُهُ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Nothing can avert destiny except supplication, and nothing increases life except righteousness, and sometimes a person is deprived of sustenance because of a sin that he commits.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، وَعِصَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا حَرِيزُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " اسْتَقِيمُوا تُفْلِحُوا، وَخَيْرُ أَعْمَالِكُمُ الصَّلَاةُ، وَلَنْ يُحَافِظَ عَلَى الْوُضُوءِ إِلَّا مُؤْمِنٌ " وَقَالَ عِصَامٌ: " وَلَا يُحَافِظُ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Remain steadfast, you will succeed. Your best deed is prayer, and only a believer maintains regular ablution.

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي حَيٍّ (١) الْمُؤَذِّنِ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " لَا يَحِلُّ لَامْرِئٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ فِي جَوْفِ بَيْتِ امْرِئٍ حَتَّى يَسْتَأْذِنَ، فَإِنْ نَظَرَ فَقَدْ دَخَلَ، وَلَا يَؤُمَّ قَوْمًا فَيَخْتَصَّ نَفْسَهُ بِدُعَاءٍ دُونَهُمْ، فَإِنْ فَعَلَ فَقَدْ خَانَهُمْ، وَلَا يُصَلِّي وَهُوَ حَقِنٌ حَتَّى يَتَخَفَّفَ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: It is not permissible for a Muslim man to even look into someone’s house without permission; if he does so, it is as if he has entered. And a person who leads people in prayer should not make supplication only for himself, leaving out the followers, because if he does so, he is being dishonest with them. And no person should perform prayer while suppressing the urge to urinate or defecate; rather, he should first relieve himself.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي الْخَطَّابِيَّ، حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ، فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ بِإِسْنَادِهِ (١)،

The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ (٢) بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ الْكَلَاعِيِّ، عَنْ زُهَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " لِكُلِّ سَهْوٍ سَجْدَتَانِ بَعْدَ مَا يُسَلِّمُ " (٣)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: For every forgetfulness, there are two prostrations after concluding the prayer with salam.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ ضَمْضَمِ بْنِ زُرْعَةَ قَالَ: شُرَيْحُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ: مَرِضَ ثَوْبَانُ بِحِمْصَ وَعَلَيْهَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ قُرْطٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، فَلَمْ يَعُدْهُ فَدَخَلَ عَلَى ثَوْبَانَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْكَلَاعِيِّينَ عَائِدًا. فَقَالَ لَهُ ثَوْبَانُ: أَتَكْتُبُ؟ فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ. فَقَالَ: اكْتُبْ. فَكَتَبَ لِلْأَمِيرِ (١) عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ قُرْطٍ مِنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَّا بَعْدُ، فَإِنَّهُ، ، لَوْ كَانَ لِمُوسَى وعِيسَى مَوْلًى بِحَضْرَتِكَ لَعُدْتَهُ، ثُمَّ طَوَى الْكِتَابَ وَقَالَ لَهُ: أَتُبَلِّغُهُ إِيَّاهُ؟ فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ. فَانْطَلَقَ الرَّجُلُ بِكِتَابِهِ فَدَفَعَهُ إِلَى ابْنِ قُرْطٍ، فَلَمَّا قَرَأَهُ قَامَ فَزِعًا فَقَالَ النَّاسُ: مَا شَأْنُهُ أَحَدَثَ أَمْرٌ، فَأَتَى ثَوْبَانَ حَتَّى دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ، فَعَادَهُ وَجَلَسَ عِنْدَهُ سَاعَةً، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَأَخَذَ ثَوْبَانُ بِرِدَائِهِ وَقَالَ: اجْلِسْ حَتَّى أُحَدِّثَكَ حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: " لَيَدْخُلَنَّ الْجَنَّةَ مِنْ أُمَّتِي سَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا لَا حِسَابَ عَلَيْهِمْ، وَلَا عَذَابَ مَعَ كُلِّ أَلْفٍ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا " (١)،

Shuraih bin Ubaid, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once in the city of Hims, Thawban, may Allah be pleased with him, fell ill. At that time, the governor of Hims was Abdullah bin Qurt Azdi, may Allah be pleased with him. He did not come to visit Thawban, may Allah be pleased with him. Meanwhile, a man from the Kalaiyeen came to visit Thawban, may Allah be pleased with him. He asked him, "Do you know how to write?" He replied, "Yes!" Thawban, may Allah be pleased with him, said, "Write." So he wrote a letter to the governor of Hims, Abdullah bin Qurt Azdi, may Allah be pleased with him: "From the freed slave of the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, Thawban. To proceed: If there had been a slave of Musa, peace be upon him, or Isa, peace be upon him, in your region, you would surely have gone to visit him." Then he rolled up the letter and said, "Will you deliver this letter to him?" He agreed, and took the letter and presented it to Abdullah bin Qurt, may Allah be pleased with him. As soon as he read the letter, he became alarmed and stood up. People, seeing this, began to say in astonishment, "What has happened to him? Has some strange incident occurred?" He went straight from there to Thawban, may Allah be pleased with him, entered the house, visited him, and after sitting for a short while, stood up to leave. Thawban, may Allah be pleased with him, held his cloak and said, "Sit down so that I may tell you a hadith which I heard from the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. I heard the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'Seventy thousand people from my Ummah will certainly enter Paradise without any reckoning or punishment, and with every thousand, there will be seventy thousand more.'"

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ عُتْبَةَ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ الدِّمَشْقِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَّامٍ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى، ، الْخُفَّيْنِ، وَعَلَى الْخِمَارِ، يَعْنِي (١) الْعِمَامَةَ " (٢)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) wiping over his leather socks, his shawl, and his turban during ablution.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ سَأَلَ مَسْأَلَةً وَهُوَ عَنْهَا غَنِيٌّ كَانَتْ شَيْئًا فِي وَجْهِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " (٣)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever asks from someone while he is not in need, it will be a mark on his face on the Day of Resurrection.

حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ذَبَحَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُضْحِيَّةً لَهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي: " يَا ثَوْبَانُ، أَصْلِحْ لَحْمَ هَذِهِ الشَّاةِ " قَالَ: فَمَا زِلْتُ أُطْعِمُهُ مِنْهَا حَتَّى قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) slaughtered a sacrificial animal and said, "Thawban! Take good care of this goat's meat." So I continued to serve its meat to the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) until he arrived in Madinah Munawwarah.

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَاصِمٌ يَعْنِي الْأَحْوَلَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ يَعْنِي أَبَا قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ عَادَ مَرِيضًا لَمْ يَزَلْ فِي، ، خُرْفَةِ الْجَنَّةِ ". فَقِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَمَا خُرْفَةُ الْجَنَّةِ؟ قَالَ: " جَنَاهَا " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: When a Muslim visits his Muslim brother who is ill, he continues to walk in the gardens of Paradise until he returns.

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، وَأَبُو النَّضْرِ قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ (٢) ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ يَتَقَبَّلُ لِي بِوَاحِدَةٍ أَتَقَبَّلُ لَهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ؟ ". قَالَ: قُلْتُ: أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ. قَالَ: " لَا تَسْأَلِ النَّاسَ شَيْئًا " قَالَ: فَرُبَّمَا سَقَطَ سَوْطُ ثَوْبَانَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْبَعِيرِ فَمَا يَسْأَلُ أَحَدًا أَنْ يُنَاوِلَهُ حَتَّى يَنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِ فَيَأْخُذَهُ. (٣)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever guarantees me one thing, I will guarantee him Paradise. Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) offered himself. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Do not ask people for anything. He replied: Alright. So after that, he never asked anyone for anything, even if he was riding and his whip fell, he would not ask anyone to pick it up; he would get down himself and pick it up.

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مِينَاءَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ يَضْمَنُ لِي خَلَّةً وَأَضْمَنُ لَهُ الْجَنَّةَ؟ "، فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ (٤)، ،

The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.

حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْزُوقٌ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الشَّامِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَوْبَانُ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِذَا أَصَابَ أَحَدَكُمُ الْحُمَّى، وَإِنَّ الْحُمَّى قِطْعَةٌ مِنَ النَّارِ، فَلْيُطْفِهَا عَنْهُ بِالْمَاءِ الْبَارِدِ، وَلْيَسْتَقْبِلْ نَهَرًا جَارِيًا يَسْتَقْبِلُ جِرْيَةَ الْمَاءِ فَيَقُولُ: بِاسْمِ اللهِ. اللهُمَّ اشْفِ عَبْدَكَ وَصَدِّقْ رَسُولَكَ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ، فَيَغْتَمِسُ فِيهِ ثَلَاثَ غَمَسَاتٍ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَبْرَأْ فِي ثَلَاثٍ فَخَمْسٍ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَبْرَأْ فِي خَمْسٍ فَسَبْعٍ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَبْرَأْ فِي سَبْعٍ فَتِسْعٍ؛ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَكَادُ يُجَاوِزُ التِّسْعَ بِإِذْنِ اللهِ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: When any of you gets a fever—which is a part of the fire—he should extinguish it with cold water. He should stand facing the direction of the flow in front of a running stream and say: "BISMILLAH ALLAHUMMA ISHFI ABDIKA WA SADIQ RASULAKA" (In the name of Allah! O Allah, grant Your servant healing and prove Your Messenger true). This should be done before sunrise and after the Fajr prayer. After that, he should immerse himself in the running stream three times, and do this for three days. If he is not cured in three days, then for five days, otherwise for seven, otherwise for nine days. He should not exceed nine days; inshaAllah (he will be cured).

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ،، ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِنِّي لَبِعُقْرِ حَوْضِي أَذُودُ عَنْهُ لِأَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ أَضْرِبُ بِعَصَايَ حَتَّى يَرْفَضَّ عَلَيْهِمْ ". فَسُئِلَ عَنْ عَرْضِهِ؟ فَقَالَ: " مِنْ مُقَامِي إِلَى عُمَانَ ". وَسُئِلَ عَنْ شَرَابِهِ فَقَالَ: " أَشَدُّ بَيَاضًا مِنَ اللَّبَنِ، وَأَحْلَى مِنَ الْعَسَلِ يَنْثَعِبُ فِيهِ مِيزَابَانِ يَمُدَّانِهِ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ: أَحَدُهُمَا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، وَالْآخَرُ مِنْ وَرِقٍ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: On the Day of Resurrection, I will be at the rear part of my reservoir and I will be pushing people away for the people of Yemen, and I will push them away with my staff until they are separated. Someone asked the Noble Prophet (ﷺ): How wide will it be? The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Equal to the distance from this place to Oman. Then someone asked about its water, so he said: It will be whiter than milk and sweeter than honey, into which two channels will flow and increase its water. One of them will be of gold and the other of silver.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، وَعَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ قَالَا: أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " مَنْ فَارَقَ الرُّوحُ الْجَسَدَ، وَهُوَ بَرِيءٌ مِنْ ثَلَاثٍ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ: الْكِبْرِ (٢) وَالْغُلُولِ وَالدَّيْنِ " (٣)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever's soul departs from his body in such a state that he is free from three things will enter Paradise: arrogance, debt, and dishonesty regarding war booty.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، وَبَهْزٌ قَالَ:، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ (١) ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ قَالَ: بَهْزٌ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ فَارَقَ الرُّوحُ الْجَسَدَ، وَهُوَ بَرِيءٌ مِنْ ثَلَاثٍ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ: الْغُلُولِ وَالدَّيْنِ، قَالَ بَهْزٌ، وَالْكِبْرِ " (٢)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever's soul departs from his body in such a state that he is free from three things will enter Paradise: arrogance, debt, and dishonesty regarding war booty.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، وَرَوْحٌ قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ غَنْمٍ،، ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Both the one who applies cupping and the one to whom it is applied, their fast is broken.

حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ، حَدَّثَنَا بُكَيْرُ بْنُ أَبِي السُّمَيْطِ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ الْغَطَفَانِيِّ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ اليعمري، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عن النبي صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أنه قال: " أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ". (٢)، ٢٢٤٣٠ م - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أخبرنا معمرٌ، عن قتادةَ، عن سالم ابن أبي الجَعْد، عن مَعْدانَ بن أبي طَلْحة (٣)، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَنَا عِنْدَ عُقْرِ حَوْضِي أَذُودُ النَّاسَ عَنْهُ لِأَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ، إِنِّي لَأَضْرِبُهُمْ بِعَصَايَ حَتَّى يَرْفَضَّ، ، عَلَيْهِمْ، وَإِنَّهُ لَيَغُتُّ (١) فِيهِ مِيزَابَانِ: أَحَدُهُمَا مِنْ وَرِقٍ، وَالْآخَرُ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ. مَا بَيْنَ بُصْرَى وَصَنْعَاءَ أَوْ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْلَةَ وَمَكَّةَ " أَوْ قَالَ: " مِنْ مُقَامِي هَذَا إِلَى عُمَانَ " (٢)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: The one who applies cupping and the one to whom it is applied, both their fasts are broken.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، وَابْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَا: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، وَرَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَكْحُولٌ، أَنَّ شَيْخًا مِنَ الْحَيِّ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ " (٣)، ،

Abd al-Razzaq and Ibn Bakr narrated to us, they said: Ibn Jurayj and Rawh informed us: Ibn Jurayj narrated to us: Mak'hul informed me that a sheikh from the tribe informed him that Thawban, the freed slave of the Prophet ﷺ, informed him: that the Prophet ﷺ said: « أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ »

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، وَرَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (١) ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيِّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ثَوْبَانُ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمْشِي فِي الْبَقِيعِ فِي رَمَضَانَ رَأَى رَجُلًا يَحْتَجِمُ فَقَالَ: " أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ " (٢)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) once passed by a man in Jannat al-Baqi‘ on the eighteenth day of Ramadan who was having cupping done. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The one who performs cupping and the one who gets cupped, their fast is broken.

حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ ثَوْبَانَ، حَدَّثَنِي حَسَّانُ بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ، أَنَّ أَبَا كَبْشَةَ السَّلُولِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّهُ، ، سَمِعَ ثَوْبَانَ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " سَدِّدُوا وَقَارِبُوا وَاعْمَلُوا (١) ، وخَيْرَ أَعْمَالِكُمُ الصَّلَاةُ، وَلَا يُحَافِظُ عَلَى الْوُضُوءِ إِلَّا مُؤْمِنٌ " (٢)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Remain steadfast, stay close, and continue to do good deeds. Your best deed is prayer, and only a believer maintains regular ablution.

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، وَأَبَانُ قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ فَارَقَ الرُّوحُ الْجَسَدَ وَهُوَ بَرِيءٌ مِنْ ثَلَاثٍ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ: الْكِبْرِ وَالدَّيْنِ وَالْغُلُولِ " (٣)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever's soul departs from his body in such a state that he is free from three things will enter Paradise: arrogance, debt, and dishonesty regarding war booty.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا عَنْ قَتَادَةَ (٤) ،، ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ، فَإِنْ شَهِدَ دَفْنَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ، الْقِيرَاطُ: مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever participates in a funeral will receive one qirat of reward, and whoever remains until the burial will receive two qirats, and the measure of one qirat is equal to Mount Uhud.

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، وَيَعْلَى قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اسْتَقِيمُوا وَلَنْ تُحْصُوا، وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ خَيْرَ أَعْمَالِكُمُ الصَّلَاةُ، وَلَا يُحَافِظُ عَلَى الْوُضُوءِ إِلَّا مُؤْمِنٌ " (٢)،

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: لَمَّا نَزَلَ فِي الْفِضَّةِ وَالذَّهَبِ مَا نَزَلَ قَالُوا: فَأَيَّ الْمَالِ نَتَّخِذُ؟ قَالَ عُمَرُ: أَنَا أَعْلَمُ ذَلِكَ لَكُمْ. قَالَ: فَأَوْضَعَ عَلَى بَعِيرٍ فَأَدْرَكَهُ، وَأَنَا فِي أَثَرِهِ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَيَّ الْمَالِ نَتَّخِذُ؟ قَالَ: " لِيَتَّخِذْ أَحَدُكُمْ قَلْبًا شَاكِرًا، وَلِسَانًا ذَاكِرًا، وَزَوْجَةً تُعِينُهُ عَلَى أَمْرِ الْآخِرَةِ " (٣)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the blessed verse regarding gold and silver was revealed, people began to say, "What wealth should we keep with us?" Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I will find out for you." So he quickly rode his camel and reached the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), and I was also behind him. He submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! What wealth should we keep with us?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "A tongue that remembers (Allah), a grateful heart, and a believing wife who helps him in matters of the Hereafter."

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عِيسَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَيُحْرَمُ الرِّزْقَ بِالذَّنْبِ يُصِيبُهُ، وَلَا يَرُدُّ الْقَدَرَ إِلَّا الدُّعَاءُ، وَلَا يَزِيدُ فِي الْعُمُرِ إِلَّا الْبِرُّ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Sometimes a person is deprived of sustenance because of a sin that he commits, and nothing can avert destiny except supplication, and nothing increases life except righteousness.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " عَائِدُ الْمَرِيضِ فِي مَخْرَفَةِ الْجَنَّةِ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: When a Muslim man visits his Muslim brother who is ill, he walks through the gardens of Paradise.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ قَالَ: وَذَكَرَ أَبَا أَسْمَاءَ، وَذَكَرَ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ سَأَلَتْ زَوْجَهَا الطَّلَاقَ فِي غَيْرِ مَا بَأْسٍ فَحَرَامٌ عَلَيْهَا رَائِحَةُ الْجَنَّةِ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Any woman who asks her husband for divorce without a specific reason, the fragrance of Paradise will be forbidden for her.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي عَبْدِ (٢) اللهِ، وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ يَعْنِي غُنْدَرًا حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ تَبِعَ جِنَازَةً فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ، فَإِنْ شَهِدَ دَفْنَهَا كَانَ لَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ ". قَالُوا: وَمَا، ، الْقِيرَاطَانِ؟ قَالَ: " أَصْغَرُهُمَا مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ " (١)،

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ قَالَ: قِيلَ لِثَوْبَانَ: حَدِّثْنَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: تَكْذِبُونَ (٢) عَلَيَّ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يَسْجُدُ لِلَّهِ سَجْدَةً إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ اللهُ بِهَا دَرَجَةً، وَحَطَّ عَنْهُ بِهَا خَطِيئَةً " (٣)،

Salim bin Abi Al-Ja'd (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a person asked Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) to narrate a hadith from the Prophet (ﷺ). He replied, "You people attribute lies to me as you do to others. I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: 'Whenever any Muslim performs a prostration for the sake of Allah's pleasure, Allah raises him one degree and forgives one of his sins.'"

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجُودِيِّ، عَنْ بَلْجٍ، عَنْ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ الْمَهْرِيِّ قَالَ: وَكَانَ قَاصَّ النَّاسِ بِقُسْطَنْطِينِيَّةَ قَالَ: قِيلَ لِثَوْبَانَ: حَدِّثْنَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَاءَ فَأَفْطَرَ " قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ: قُسْطَنْطِينِيَّةُ (٤)، ،

Abu Shaibah Mehri, may Allah have mercy on him, who used to preach in Constantinople, says that once a person said to Thawban, may Allah be pleased with him, "Tell us a hadith." So he said, "I have seen that once the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, vomited, so the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, broke his fast."

حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِنَّ الْمُسْلِمَ إِذَا عَادَ أَخَاهُ الْمُسْلِمَ لَمْ يَزَلْ فِي خُرْفَةِ الْجَنَّةِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ " (١)،

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ الْغَطَفَانِيِّ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ الْيَعْمُرِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " إِنِّي لَبِعُقْرِ الْحَوْضِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَذُودُ عَنْهُ النَّاسَ لِأَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ أَضْرِبُهُمْ بِعَصَايَ، حَتَّى يَرْفَضَّ عَلَيْهِمْ ". قَالَ: فَسُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ عَرْضِهِ فَقَالَ: " مِنْ مُقَامِي هَذَا إِلَى عُمَانَ ". وَسُئِلَ عَنْ شَرَابِهِ فَقَالَ: " أَشَدُّ بَيَاضًا مِنَ اللَّبَنِ، وَأَحْلَى مِنَ الْعَسَلِ يَصُبُّ (١) فِيهِ مِيزَابَانِ يَمُدَّانِهِ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ: أَحَدُهُمَا ذَهَبٌ، وَالْآخَرُ وَرِقٌ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: On the Day of Resurrection, I will be at the rear part of my reservoir and I will be pushing people away for the people of Yemen, and I will push them away with my staff until they are separated. Someone asked the Noble Prophet (ﷺ): How wide will it be? The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Equal to the distance from this place to Oman. Then someone asked about its water, so he said: It will be whiter than milk and sweeter than honey, into which two channels will flow and increase its water. One of them will be of gold and the other of silver.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ أَبِي (١) عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ (٢)،

The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى، وَحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى (٣) يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو قِلَابَةَ الْجَرْمِيُّ، أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّ شَدَّادَ بْنَ أَوْسٍ بَيْنَمَا هُوَ يَمْشِي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْبَقِيعِ مَرَّ عَلَى رَجُلٍ يَحْتَجِمُ بَعْدَ مَا مَضَى مِنْ رَمَضَانَ ثَمَانِ عَشْرَةَ لَيْلَةً، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ " (٤)، ،

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى، وَحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى قَالَ: وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو قِلَابَةَ، أَنَّ أَبَا أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) saying: The one who applies cupping and the one to whom it is applied, their fast is broken.

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا عَادَ الْمُسْلِمُ أَخَاهُ، فَإِنَّهُ يَمْشِي فِي خَرْفَةِ الْجَنَّةِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ " (٢)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: When a Muslim man visits his Muslim brother who is ill, he walks in the gardens of Paradise.

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ اللهَ أَوْ إِنَّ رَبِّي، ، زَوَى لِي الْأَرْضَ مَشَارِقَهَا، وَمَغَارِبَهَا وَإِنَّ أُمَّتِي سَيَبْلُغُ مُلْكُهَا مَا زُوِيَ لِي مِنْهَا، وَأُعْطِيتُ الْكَنْزَيْنِ: الْأَحْمَرَ وَالْأَبْيَضَ، وَإِنِّي سَأَلْتُ رَبِّي لِأُمَّتِي أَنْ لَا يُهْلِكَهَا بِسَنَةٍ بِعَامَّةٍ، وَلَا يُسَلِّطَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوًّا مِنْ سِوَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَيَسْتَبِيحَ بَيْضَتَهُمْ حَتَّى يَكُونَ بَعْضُهُمْ يَسْبِي بَعْضًا، وَبَعْضُهُمْ يُهْلِكُ بَعْضًا، وَلَوْ اجْتَمَعَ عَلَيْهِمْ مَنْ بَيْنَ أَقْطَارِهَا، أَوْ قَالَ: مَنْ بِأَقْطَارِهَا، أَلَا وَإِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْأَئِمَّةَ الْمُضِلِّينَ، وَإِذَا وُضِعَ السَّيْفُ فِي أُمَّتِي لَمْ يُرْفَعْ عَنْهَا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَلَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تَلْحَقَ قَبَائِلُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي بِالْمُشْرِكِينَ، وَحَتَّى تَعْبُدَ قَبَائِلُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي الْأَوْثَانَ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Allah Almighty gathered the entire earth for me, so I saw its east and its west, and the rule of my Ummah will reach as far as the area that was gathered and shown to me. And I was given two treasures, the red and the white. And I requested my Lord for my Ummah that He should not destroy them by a general famine, and that He should not impose upon them an external enemy who would massacre them. So my Lord said: O Muhammad! No one can overturn what I have decreed. I have accepted your prayer for your Ummah that I will not destroy them by a general famine, and I will not impose upon them an external enemy who will commit great slaughter among them, even if their enemies gather against them from all corners of the world, until they themselves begin to destroy one another. And when the sword is placed among my Ummah, it will not be lifted from them until the Day of Resurrection. And the Hour will not be established until some tribes of my Ummah join the polytheists, and until some tribes of my Ummah begin to worship idols.

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ أَمْلَاهُ عَلَيْنَا، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " أَفْضَلُ دِينَارٍ دِينَارٌ يُنْفِقُهُ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى عِيَالِهِ، وَدِينَارٌ يُنْفِقُهُ عَلَى دَابَّتِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ " قَالَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو قِلَابَةَ مِنْ قِبَلِهِ: بَدَأَ (٢) بِالْعِيَالِ قَالَ: وَأَيُّ رَجُلٍ أَعْظَمُ أَجْرًا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يُنْفِقُ عَلَى عِيَالِهِ صِغَارًا يُعِفُّهُمُ اللهُ بِهِ (٣)، ،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: The best dinar is the one which a man spends on his family, or spends on his mount in the way of Allah.

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ، وَمَنْ شَهِدَ دَفْنَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ ". قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ؟ قَالَ: " أَصْغَرُهُمَا مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ " (١)،

It is narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever participates in a funeral will receive one qirat of reward, and whoever remains until the burial will receive two qirats, and the measure of one qirat is equal to Mount Uhud.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الْخَفَّافُ قَالَ: سُئِلَ سَعِيدٌ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَتْبَعُ الْجِنَازَةً مَا لَهُ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ فَأَخْبَرَنَا عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ، فَإِنْ شَهِدَ دَفْنَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ ". فَسُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ الْقِيرَاطِ. فَقَالَ: " مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ " (٢)، ،
