Rabbana Afrigh Alaina Sabran Full Dua Meaning & in Arabic

Rabbana Afrigh Alaina Sabran is a powerful Quranic Supplication that Asks Allah for Sabr, Strength courage, and victory over the enemies.

The Dua is mentioned twice in The Quran. 1st in Surah Al-Baqarah, in the Ayat 250th, and 2nd in Surah Al-A’raf, in the Ayat 126th which makes them special Dua as there is nothing greater than the Words of Allah (S.W.T).

The full Dua is written in Arabic with the Diacritical as:

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْراً وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى القَوْمِ الكَافِرِينَ

and Without the Diacritical:

ربنا أفرغ علينا صبرا وثبت أقدامنا وانصرنا على القوم الكافرين

Rabbana Afrigh Alaina Sabran wa Thabbit Aqdamana wa Nsurna Alal-Qawm il-Kafirin

2nd Dua

The 2nd version fo the dua which is the shorter one and easier to memorize is mentioned in Surah Al-A’raf, in the verse 126th is as following:

in Arabic

رَبَّنَآ أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًۭا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ

Transliteration

Rabbana Afrigh Alayna Sabran wa Tawaffana Muslimeen.

Meaning

Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You]

وَلَمَّا بَرَزُوا۟ لِجَالُوتَ وَجُنُودِهِۦ قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَآ أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًۭا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَٱنصُرْنَا عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ ٢٥٠

And when they went forth to [face] Goliath and his soldiers, they said, “Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people.”

Walamma barazoo lijalootawajunoodihi qaloo rabbana afrigh AAalayna sabranwathabbit aqdamana wansurnaAAala alqawmi alkafireen

[Quran 2:250]

وَمَا تَنقِمُ مِنَّآ إِلَّآ أَنْ ءَامَنَّا بِـَٔايَـٰتِ رَبِّنَا لَمَّا جَآءَتْنَا ۚ رَبَّنَآ أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًۭا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ ١٢٦

And you do not resent us except because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Our Lord, pour upon us patience1 and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You].”

Wama tanqimu minna illaan amanna bi-ayati rabbinalamma jaatna rabbana afrigh AAalaynasabran watawaffana muslimeen
