Hadith of Jabir al-Ahmasi (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ جَابِرٍ الْأَحْمَسِيِّ (١) رَضِيَ اللهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ، ١٩١٠٠ - حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعِنْدَهُ الدُّبَّاءُ، ، فَقُلْتُ: مَا هَذَا؟ قَالَ: " نُكَثِّرُ بِهِ طَعَامَنَا " (١)،

It is narrated from Jabir Ahmasi (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I presented myself before the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), and there was gourd (pumpkin) with the Noble Prophet (ﷺ). I asked, "What is this?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "With this, we increase our food."

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِهِ، فَرَأَيْتُ عِنْدَهُ قَرْعًا فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا هَذَا؟ قَالَ: هَذَا " قَرْعٌ نُكَثِّرُ بِهِ طَعَامَنَا " (٢)، ،
