Hadith of Salamah ibn Qays Al-Ashja‘i (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ، ١٨٩٨٧ - حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا تَوَضَّأْتَ فَانْتَثِرْ، (١) وَإِذَا اسْتَجْمَرْتَ فَأَوْتِرْ " (٢)،

It is narrated from Salamah bin Qais that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: When you perform ablution, clean your nose, and when you use stones for istinja, use an odd number of stones.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا تَوَضَّأْتَ فَانْتَثِرْ، (٣) وَإِذَا اسْتَجْمَرْتَ فَأَوْتِرْ " (٤)، ،

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ: " إِنَّمَا هُنَّ أَرْبَعٌ: لَا تُشْرِكُوا بِاللهِ شَيْئًا، وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللهُ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ، وَلَا تَسْرِقُوا، وَلَا تَزْنُوا " (١)،

It is narrated from Salamah bin Qais (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet, on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage, said: There are four things: Do not associate any partner with Allah, do not unjustly kill any person whose killing Allah has forbidden, do not steal, and do not commit adultery.

حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ يَعْنِي شَيْبَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورٌ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ: " أَلَا إِنَّمَا هُنَّ أَرْبَعٌ: أَنْ لَا تُشْرِكُوا بِاللهِ شَيْئًا، وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللهُ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ، وَلَا تَزْنُوا، وَلَا تَسْرِقُوا ". قَالَ: فَمَا أَنَا بِأَشَحَّ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِنِّي إِذْ سَمِعْتُهُنَّ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ، صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ (١)،
