Hadith of 'Abd Allah ibn Busur al-Mazini (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ الْمَازِنِيِّ (١)، ١٧٦٧٢ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ حَرِيزِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ، قَالَ: كُنَّا غِلْمَانًا (٢) جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ، وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَلَمْ نَكُنْ نُحْسِنُ نَسْأَلُهُ، فَقُلْتُ: أَشَيْخًا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ: " كَانَ فِي عَنْفَقَتِهِ شَعَرَاتٌ بِيضٌ " (٣)،

It is narrated from Hariz bin Uthman, may Allah have mercy on him, that we, a few children, were sitting with Abdullah bin Busr, may Allah be pleased with him, who was a companion of the Prophet (peace be upon him). We did not even know how to ask questions properly. I asked him, "Had the Prophet (peace be upon him) become old?" He replied that there were a few white hairs under the lower lip of the Prophet (peace be upon him).

حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ بُسْرٍ، يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ صَنَعَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ، طَعَامًا فَدَعَاهُ فَأَجَابَهُ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ طَعَامِهِ قَالَ: " اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُمْ، وَارْحَمْهُمْ، وَبَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِيمَا رَزَقْتَهُمْ " (١)،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once his father arranged food for the Prophet (ﷺ) and invited the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) accepted the invitation. When they finished eating, the Prophet (ﷺ) supplicated: "O Allah! Forgive them, have mercy on them, and bless their sustenance."

حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا، جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ، فَقَالَ: " اجْلِسْ فَقَدْ آذَيْتَ، وَآنَيْتَ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) was delivering the sermon on Friday when a man (stepping over people's necks) came. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Sit down, you have caused inconvenience to the people and have come late."

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ (١) عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَزَلَ فَذَكَرُوا وَطْبَةً (٢) ، وَطَعَامًا، وَشَرَابًا، فَكَانَ يَأْكُلُ التَّمْرَ، وَيَضَعُ النَّوَى عَلَى ظَهْرِ إِصْبِعَيْهِ، ثُمَّ يَرْمِي بِهِ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَرَكِبَ بَغْلَةً لَهُ بَيْضَاءَ، فَأَخَذْتُ بِلِجَامِهَا، فَقُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ، ادْعُ اللهَ لَنَا فَقَالَ: " اللهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِيمَا رَزَقْتَهُمْ، وَاغْفِرْ لَهُمْ، وَارْحَمْهُمْ " (٣)، ،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) came to his place. Then, mentioning eating fresh dates and drinking, he said that the Prophet (ﷺ) would eat dates and place the pit on the back of his finger and flick it away. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) stood up and mounted his white mule. I held its reins and submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! (ﷺ) please supplicate to Allah for us." The Prophet (ﷺ) supplicated, saying, "O Allah! Bless their sustenance, forgive them, and have mercy on them."

حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: أَتَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَدَّمَتْ إِلَيْهِ جَدَّتِي تَمْرًا تُعَلِّلُهُ (١) ، وَطَبَخَتْ لَهُ، وَسَقَيْنَاهُمْ، فَنَفِدَ الْقَدَحُ فَجِئْتُ بِقَدَحٍ آخَرَ، وَكُنْتُ أَنَا الْخَادِمَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَعْطِ الْقَدَحَ الَّذِي انْتَهَى إِلَيْهِ " (٢)،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) came to our place. My grandmother presented a few dates and the food she had prepared. Then we gave water to the Prophet (ﷺ) to drink. When one bowl was finished, I brought another bowl because I was the servant. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Bring the same bowl that you just brought."

حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، قَالَ:، ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بُسْرٍ، قَالَ: " كَانَتْ أُخْتِي رُبَّمَا بَعَثَتْنِي بِالشَّيْءِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، تُطْرِفُهُ إِيَّاهُ فَيَقْبَلُهُ مِنِّي " (١)،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that sometimes my sister would give me something to take to the Prophet (ﷺ), and the Prophet (ﷺ) would accept it from me.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ، حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو (٢) ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بُسْرٍ الْمَازِنِيُّ، قَالَ: بَعَثَنِي أَبِي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَدْعُوهُ إِلَى طَعَامٍ فَجَاءَ مَعِي، فَلَمَّا دَنَوْتُ مِنَ الْمَنْزِلِ أَسْرَعْتُ، فَأَعْلَمْتُ أَبَوَيَّ فَخَرَجَا فَتَلَقَّيَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرَحَّبَا بِهِ، وَوَضَعْنَا لَهُ قَطِيفَةً كَانَتْ عِنْدَنَا زِئْبِرِيَّةً (٣) فَقَعَدَ عَلَيْهَا، ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبِي لِأُمِّي: هَاتِ طَعَامَكِ، فَجَاءَتْ بِقَصْعَةٍ فِيهَا دَقِيقٌ قَدْ عَصَدَتْهُ بِمَاءٍ وَمِلْحٍ، فَوَضَعْتُهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: " خُذُوا بِسْمِ اللهِ مِنْ حَوَالَيْهَا، وَذَرُوا ذُرْوَتَهَا، فَإِنَّ الْبَرَكَةَ فِيهَا " فَأَكَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَأَكَلْنَا مَعَهُ، وَفَضَلَ مِنْهَا فَضْلَةٌ، ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُمْ، وَارْحَمْهُمْ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَيْهِمْ، وَوَسِّعْ عَلَيْهِمْ فِي، ، أَرْزَاقِهِمْ " (١)،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once my father sent me to invite the Prophet (ﷺ) for a meal. The Prophet (ﷺ) came with me. When we reached near the house, I hurried ahead and informed my parents. Both of them came out of the house, welcomed the Prophet (ﷺ), and greeted him warmly. Then we spread a thick sheet that we had, and the Prophet (ﷺ) sat on it. Then my father said to my mother, "Bring the food." So she brought a bowl in which there was bread made from flour mixed with water and salt. She placed that vessel before the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Recite Bismillah and eat from the edges, leaving the middle part, for the blessing descends on the middle part." Then the Prophet (ﷺ) ate from it; we also ate from it, but it still remained. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O Allah, forgive them, have mercy on them, bless them, and expand their sustenance."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ، حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَزْهَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ، قَالَ: " لَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ حَدِيثًا مُنْذُ زَمَانٍ: إِذَا، ، كُنْتَ فِي قَوْمٍ عِشْرِينَ رَجُلًا، أَوْ أَقَلَّ، أَوْ أَكْثَرَ، فَتَصَفَّحْتَ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ، فَلَمْ تَرَ فِيهِمْ رَجُلًا يُهَابُ فِي اللهِ، فَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ الْأَمْرَ قَدْ رَقَّ " (١)،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that a time came when I heard this hadith: If you are among a group consisting of twenty or so people, look at their faces, but if you do not find even a single person among them who inspires awe for the sake of Allah, then know that the matter has become extremely weak.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَسَّانُ بْنُ نُوحٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ، قَالَ: أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْرَابِيَّانِ، فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا: مَنْ خَيْرُ الرِّجَالِ يَا مُحَمَّدُ؟ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ طَالَ عُمْرُهُ، وَحَسُنَ عَمَلُهُ "، وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ: إِنَّ شَرَائِعَ الْإِسْلَامِ قَدْ كَثُرَتْ عَلَيْنَا، فَبَابٌ نَتَمَسَّكُ بِهِ جَامِعٌ؟ قَالَ: " لَا يَزَالُ لِسَانُكَ رَطْبًا مِنْ ذِكْرِ اللهِ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that two Bedouin men came to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ), and one of them asked, "O Muhammad! (ﷺ) Who is the best person?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "The one whose life is long and whose deeds are good." The other said, "The commands of Islam are many; tell us something comprehensive that we can hold on to firmly." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Let your tongue remain moist with the remembrance of Allah at all times."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرِيزٌ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ بُسْرٍ الْمَازِنِيَّ صَاحِبَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ: أَرَأَيْتَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَشَيْخًا كَانَ؟ قَالَ: " كَانَ فِي عَنْفَقَتِهِ شَعَرَاتٌ بِيضٌ " (١)،

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى أَبِي فَنَزَلَ عَلَيْهِ، أَوْ قَالَ لَهُ أَبِي انْزِلْ عَلَيَّ، قَالَ: فَأَتَاهُ بِطَعَامٍ وَحَيْسَةٍ وَسَوِيقٍ، فَأَكَلَهُ، وَكَانَ يَأْكُلُ التَّمْرَ وَيُلْقِي النَّوَى، - وَصَفَ بِأُصْبُعَيْهِ السَّبَّابَةِ وَالْوُسْطَى بِظَهْرِهِمَا - مِنْ فِيهِ، ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ بِشَرَابٍ، فَشَرِبَ ثُمَّ نَاوَلَهُ مَنْ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ، فَقَامَ فَأَخَذَ بِلِجَامِ دَابَّتِهِ، فَقَالَ: ادْعُ لِي، فَقَالَ: " اللهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِيمَا رَزَقْتَهُمْ، وَاغْفِرْ لَهُمْ، وَارْحَمْهُمْ " (٢)،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) came to his place. He presented food, sweets, and sattu (roasted barley flour), which the Prophet (ﷺ) ate. The Prophet (ﷺ) would eat dates and place the pit on the back of his finger and flick it away. Then water was presented, which the Prophet (ﷺ) drank and gave to the one on his right side. He held its strap and said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), please supplicate to Allah for us." The Prophet (ﷺ) supplicated, saying, "O Allah! Bless their sustenance, forgive them, and have mercy on them."

حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، أَخْبَرَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ خُمَيْرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ بُسْرٍ قَالَ: نَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى أَبِي، أَوْ قَالَ أَبِي لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ انْزِلْ عَلَيَّ، قَالَ: فَنَزَلَ عَلَيْهِ، فَأَتَاهُ، ، بِطَعَامٍ، أَوْ بِحَيْسٍ، قَالَ: فَأَكَلَ، ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ بِشَرَابٍ، قَالَ: فَشَرِبَ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ نَاوَلَ مَنْ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ، قَالَ: وَكَانَ إِذَا أَكَلَ أَلْقَى النَّوَاةَ - وَصَفَ (١) شُعْبَةُ: أَنَّهُ وَضَعَ النَّوَاةَ عَلَى السَّبَّابَةِ وَالْوُسْطَى، ثُمَّ رَمَى بِهَا -، فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبِي: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ (٢) لَنَا، فَقَالَ: " اللهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِيمَا رَزَقْتَهُمْ، وَاغْفِرْ لَهُمْ، وَارْحَمْهُمْ " (٣)،

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ بَحْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، عَنِ ابْنَيْ بُسْرٍ السَّلْمَيَيْنِ، قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهِمَا فَقُلْتُ: رَحِمَكُمَا (٤) اللهُ، الرَّجُلُ مِنَّا يَرْكَبُ دَابَّتَهُ فَيَضْرِبُهَا بِالسَّوْطِ، وَيَكْفَحُهَا بِاللِّجَامِ، هَلْ سَمِعْتُمَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا؟ قَالَا: لَا، مَا سَمِعْنَا مِنْهُ فِي ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا، فَإِذَا امْرَأَةٌ قَدْ نَادَتْ مِنْ جَوْفِ الْبَيْتِ: " أَيُّهَا السَّائِلُ، إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ: {وَمَا مِنْ دَابَّةٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا طَائِرٍ يَطِيرُ بِجَنَاحَيْهِ، إِلَّا أُمَمٌ أَمْثَالُكُمْ مَا فَرَّطْنَا فِي الْكِتَابِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ} [الأنعام: ٣٨] " فَقَالَا: هَذِهِ أُخْتُنَا، وَهِيَ، ، أَكْبَرُ مِنَّا، وَقَدْ أَدْرَكَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ (١)،

Abdullah bin Ziyad says that once I went to the two sons of Basr (may Allah be pleased with him) and, praying for mercy and kindness for them, said: "One of us rides his animal and strikes it with a whip and pulls it by the reins. Have either of you heard anything from the Prophet (peace be upon him) regarding this?" They replied, "No, we have not heard any statement from the Prophet (peace be upon him) about this." At that moment, a woman's voice came from inside the house: "O questioner! Allah Almighty says, 'There is no creature that moves on the earth nor a bird that flies with its wings but they are communities like you. We have not neglected anything in the Book.'" They both said, "This is our sister, who is older than us and who met the Prophet (peace be upon him)."

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الطَّالَقَانِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَسَّانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ بُسْرٍ الْمَازِنِيَّ، يَقُولُ: تَرَوْنَ يَدِي هَذِهِ؟ فَأَنَا بَايَعْتُ بِهَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا تَصُومُوا يَوْمَ السَّبْتِ إِلَّا فِيمَا افْتُرِضَ عَلَيْكُمْ " (٢)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that you are looking at these hands of mine; with these hands I pledged allegiance to the Prophet (ﷺ), and the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Do not fast on Saturday, except if it is an obligatory fast.

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بُسْرٍ صَاحِبُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " كَانَتْ أُخْتِي تَبْعَثُنِي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، بِالْهَدِيَّةِ فَيَقْبَلُهَا " (١)،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that sometimes my sister would give me something to take to the Prophet (ﷺ), and the Prophet (ﷺ) would accept it from me.

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، قَالَ:، ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بُسْرٍ، قَالَ: " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْبَلُ الْهَدِيَّةَ، وَلَا يَقْبَلُ الصَّدَقَةَ " (١)،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to accept gifts, but he would not accept charity.

حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، قَالَ: أَرَانِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بُسْرٍ شَامَةً فِي قَرْنِهِ، فَوَضَعْتُ إِصْبُعِي عَلَيْهَا، فَقَالَ: وَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِصْبُعَهُ عَلَيْهَا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " لَتَبْلُغَنَّ قَرْنًا " قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ: " وَكَانَ ذَا جُمَّةٍ " (٢)، ،

Abdullah Hasan bin Ayyub, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once Abdullah bin Busr, may Allah be pleased with him, showed me a wound on his head at the place of the horn (where animals have horns). I placed my finger on it, and he said that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, had also placed his finger on it and said, "You will live for a long time."

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَسَّانُ بْنُ نُوحٍ حِمْصِيٌّ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ بُسْرٍ، يَقُولُ: تَرَوْنَ كَفِّي هَذِهِ، فَأَشْهَدُ أَنِّي وَضَعْتُهَا عَلَى كَفِّ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَهَى عَنْ صِيَامِ يَوْمِ السَّبْتِ، إِلَّا فِي فَرِيضَةٍ، وَقَالَ: " إِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَّا لِحَاءَ شَجَرَةٍ فَلْيُفْطِرْ عَلَيْهِ " (١)،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that you are looking at these hands of mine; with these hands I pledged allegiance to the Prophet (ﷺ), and the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Do not fast on Saturday, except for an obligatory fast. Therefore, if any of you finds nothing but the bark of a tree, then break your fast with that.

حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ، حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ، حَدَّثَنِي بَحِيرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي بِلَالٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " بَيْنَ الْمَلْحَمَةِ وَفَتْحِ الْمَدِينَةِ سِتُّ سِنِينَ، وَيَخْرُجُ مَسِيحٌ الدَّجَّالُ فِي السَّابِعَةِ " (٢)،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Near the Day of Judgment, there will be a period of six years between war and the conquest of the city, and in the seventh year, the emergence of the Messiah Dajjal will occur.

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنَ، ، الْحَكَمِ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَيّاشٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الحِمْيَريُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ الْمَازِنِيِّ، صَاحِبِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، إِذَا أَتَى بَيْتَ قَوْمٍ، أَتَاهُ مِمَّا يَلِي جِدَارَهُ، وَلَا يَأْتِيِ (١) مُسْتَقْبِلًا بَابَهُ " (٢)،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (ﷺ) would go to someone's house, he would stand behind the wall, not directly in front of the door.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ خُمَيْرٍ الرَّحَبِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ الْمَازِنِيِّ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " مَا مِنْ أُمَّتِي مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا أَنَا (٣) أَعْرِفُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " قَالُوا: وَكَيْفَ تَعْرِفُهُمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فِي كَثْرَةِ الْخَلَائِقِ؟ قَالَ: " أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ دَخَلْتَ صَبْرَةً فِيهَا خَيْلٌ دُهْمٌ بُهْمٌ، وَفِيهَا فَرَسٌ أَغَرُّ مُحَجَّلٌ، أَمَا كُنْتَ تَعْرِفُهُ مِنْهَا؟ " قَالَ: بَلَى، قَالَ: " فَإِنَّ أُمَّتِي يَوْمَئِذٍ غُرٌّ مِنَ السُّجُودِ، مُحَجَّلُونَ مِنَ الْوُضُوءِ " (٤)، ،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "On the Day of Resurrection, I will recognize each of my followers." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! (ﷺ) In such a large crowd of creation, how will you recognize them?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Tell me, if you enter a stable where black horses are tied and among them there is a horse whose forehead is bright, shining, and white, would you be able to recognize it among those horses?" They replied, "Why not?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "In the same way, on that day, the foreheads of my followers will be radiant due to prostration, and their limbs will be shining because of ablution."

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: عَبْدُ اللهِ، وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنَ الْحَكَمِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ، قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْيَحْصَبِيُّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ بُسْرٍ، صَاحِبَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، إِذَا جَاءَ الْبَابَ يَسْتَأْذِنُ لَمْ يَسْتَقْبِلْهُ "، يَقُولُ: " يَمْشِي مَعَ الْحَائِطِ حَتَّى يَسْتَأْذِنَ، فَيُؤْذَنَ لَهُ، أَوْ يَنْصَرِفَ " (١)، ،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (ﷺ) would go to someone's house, he would stand behind the wall, not directly in front of the door. Then he would seek permission; if permission was granted, he would enter, otherwise he would return.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ، قَالَ: نَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى أَبِي، قَالَ: فَقَرَّبْنَا لَهُ طَعَامًا وَوَطْبَةً (١) ، فَأَكَلَ مِنْهَا، ثُمَّ أُتِيَ بِتَمْرٍ، فَكَانَ يَأْكُلُهُ وَيُلْقِي النَّوَى بِأُصْبُعَيْهِ يَجْمَعُ السَّبَّابَةَ وَالْوُسْطَى، - قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: هُوَ ظَنِّي، وَهُوَ فِيهِ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ - ثُمَّ أُتِيَ بِشَرَابٍ فَشَرِبَهُ، ثُمَّ نَاوَلَهُ الَّذِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ أَبِي - وَأَخَذَ بِلِجَامِ دَابَّتِهِ -: ادْعُ اللهَ لَنَا، قَالَ: " اللهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِيمَا رَزَقْتَهُمْ، وَاغْفِرْ لَهُمْ، وَارْحَمْهُمْ " (٢)،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) came to his place. He brought food, sweets, and sattu and presented them. The Prophet (ﷺ) ate from it. The Prophet (ﷺ) would eat dates and place the pit on the back of his finger and flick it away. Then water was presented, which the Prophet (ﷺ) drank and gave to the one on his right side. He held its strap and said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), please supplicate to Allah for us." The Prophet (ﷺ) supplicated, saying, "O Allah! Bless their sustenance, forgive them, and have mercy on them." The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain.

حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُمَيْرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ بُسْرٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَارَهُمْ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَى حَدِيثِ ابْنِ جَعْفَرٍ (٣)،

Rawh narrated to us, Shu’bah narrated to us from Yazid ibn Khumayr who said: I heard Abdullah ibn Busr narrate from his father that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, visited them and mentioned the meaning of the hadith of Ibn Ja’far.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ، قَالَ:، ، كُنْتُ جَالِسًا مَعَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ، فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ يَتَخَطَّى رِقَابَ النَّاسِ، وَرَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ، فَقَالَ: " اجْلِسْ فَقَدْ آذَيْتَ، وَآنَيْتَ " (١)،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) was delivering the sermon on Friday when a man (stepping over people's necks) came. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Sit down, you have caused inconvenience to the people and have come late."

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ قَيْسٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ بُسْرٍ يَقُولُ: جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيَّانِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَيُّ النَّاسِ خَيْرٌ؟ قَالَ: " مَنْ طَالَ عُمْرُهُ، وَحَسُنَ عَمَلُهُ " وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ شَرَائِعَ الْإِسْلَامِ قَدْ كَثُرَتْ عَلَيَّ، فَمُرْنِي بِأَمْرٍ أَتَثَبَّتُ (٢) بِهِ، فَقَالَ: " لَا يَزَالُ، ، لِسَانُكَ رَطْبًا مِنَ ذكر (١) اللهِ" (٢)،

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that two Bedouin men came to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ), and one of them asked, "O Muhammad! (ﷺ) Who is the best person?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "The one whose life is long and whose deeds are good." The other said, "The commands of Islam are many; tell us something comprehensive that we can hold firmly to." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Let your tongue remain moist with the remembrance of Allah at all times."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَرِيزُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ بُسْرٍ صَاحِبَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، كَانَ (٣) النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْخًا؟ قَالَ: " كَانَ أَشَبَّ مِنْ ذَلِكَ، وَلَكِنْ كَانَ فِي لِحْيَتِهِ - وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ فِي عَنْفَقَتِهِ - شَعَرَاتٌ بِيضٌ " (٤)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،

It is narrated from Hariz bin Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, that I asked Abdullah bin Busr, may Allah be pleased with him, who was a companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), whether the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had become old? He replied that there were a few white hairs under the lower lip of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
