Hadith of Abu Rimthah At-Taymi, and it is said: At-Tamimi (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ أَبِي رِمْثَةَ التَّمِيْمِيِّ وَيُقَالُ التَّيمِيِّ (١)، ١٧٤٩١ - حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو رِمْثَةَ التَّمِيمِيُّ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعِي ابْنٌ لِي، فَقَالَ: " هَذَا ابْنُكَ؟ " فَقُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، أَشْهَدُ بِهِ. قَالَ: " لَا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ، وَلَا تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ ". قَالَ: وَرَأَيْتُ الشَّيْبَ أَحْمَرَ (٢)،

It is narrated from Abu Rimtha (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I went to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ) taking my son with me. The Prophet (ﷺ) asked, "Is this your son?" I replied, "Yes! I bear witness to it." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You will not be held responsible for any crime of his, nor will he be held responsible for any crime of yours." The narrator says, "I saw the red and white hair of the Prophet (ﷺ)."

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ أَبْجَرَ، عَنْ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ، عَنْ أَبِي رِمْثَةَ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَعَ أَبِي، فَرَأَى الَّتِي بِظَهْرِهِ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَلَا أُعَالِجُهَا لَكَ فَإِنِّي طَبِيبٌ؟ قَالَ: " أَنْتَ رَفِيقٌ، وَاللهُ الطَّبِيبُ " قَالَ: مَنْ هَذَا مَعَكَ؟ " فَقَالَ ابْنِي: أشْهَدُ بِهِ (٣) . قَالَ: " أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ، وَلَا تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ " (٤)، ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: قَالَ أَبِي: " اسْمُ أَبِي رِمْثَةَ رِفَاعَةُ بْنُ يَثْرِبِيٍّ "،

It is narrated from Abu Rimtha (may Allah be pleased with him) that I went with my father to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ). When he saw the Seal of Prophethood on the blessed back of the Prophet (ﷺ), he said, "O Messenger of Allah! (ﷺ) Should I not treat you? For I am a physician." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You are a companion, the physician is Allah." Then he asked, "Who is this with you?" He replied, "This is my son and I am a witness over him." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Remember! He is not responsible for any of your crimes, nor are you responsible for any of his crimes."

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ السَّدُوسِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي رِمْثَةَ التَّمِيمِيِّ، قَالَ: خَرَجْتُ مَعَ أَبِي حَتَّى أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَرَأَيْتُ بِرَأْسِهِ رَدْعَ حِنَّاءٍ، وَرَأَيْتُ عَلَى كَتِفِهِ مِثْلَ التُّفَّاحَةِ، قَالَ أَبِي: إِنِّي طَبِيبٌ، أَلَا أَبُطُّهَا لَكَ؟ قَالَ: " طَبِيْبَهَا الَّذِي خَلَقَهَا " قَالَ: وَقَالَ لِأَبِي: " هَذَا ابْنُكَ؟ " قَالَ: نَعَمْ. قَالَ: " أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ، وَلَا تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ " (١)،

It is narrated from Abu Rimthah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I went with my father to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). I saw the effect of henna on the head of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and saw the Seal of Prophethood on his shoulder, the size of a pigeon’s egg. My father said, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace be upon him) Should I not treat you, for I am a physician?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Its physician is Allah, Who created it." Then he said, "Is this your son with you?" He said, "Yes." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Remember! He is not responsible for any of your crimes, nor are you responsible for any of his crimes."

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ، عَنْ أَبِي رِمْثَةَ التَّمِيمِيِّ (٢) ، قَالَ: " كُنْتُ مَعَ أَبِي، فَأَتَيْتُ (٣) النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَوَجَدْنَاهُ جَالِسًا فِي ظِلِّ الْكَعْبَةِ وَعَلَيْهِ بُرْدَانِ أَخْضَرَانِ " (٤)، ،

It is narrated from Abu Rimtha (may Allah be pleased with him) that I presented myself before the Prophet (ﷺ) along with my father. We saw that the Prophet (ﷺ) was sitting in the shade of the Ka'bah, and he (ﷺ) was wearing two green sheets.

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ، عَنْ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ، عَنْ أَبِي رِمْثَةَ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ وَيَقُولُ: " يَدُ الْمُعْطِي الْعُلْيَا، أُمَّكَ وَأَبَاكَ، وَأُخْتَكَ وَأَخَاكَ، وَأَدْنَاكَ فَأَدْنَاكَ "، قَالَ: فَدَخَلَ نَفَرٌ مِنْ بَنِي ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ يَرْبُوعٍ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، هَؤُلَاءِ النَّفَرُ الْيَرْبُوعِيُّونَ الَّذِينَ قَتَلُوا فُلَانًا. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَلَا لَا تَجْنِي نَفْسٌ عَلَى أُخْرَى " مَرَّتَيْنِ (١)، •

It is narrated from Abu Rimtha (may Allah be pleased with him) that I presented myself before the Prophet (ﷺ), and he was delivering a sermon, saying: "The hand of the giver is upper. Keep giving to your mother, father, siblings, and step by step to your close relatives." Meanwhile, some people from Banu Tha'labah bin Yarbu' arrived. Seeing them, an Ansari said, "O Messenger of Allah! (ﷺ) These are the same Yarbu' people who killed such and such person." The Prophet (ﷺ) said twice, "Remember! No one can be held responsible for the crime of another person."

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ (٢) ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ هُوَ ابْنُ الرَّيَّانِ، حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ الْأَسَدِيُّ، عَنْ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ، عَنْ أَبِي رِمْثَةَ، قَالَ: " انْطَلَقْتُ مَعَ أَبِي وَأَنَا غُلَامٌ، فَأَتَيْنَا رَجُلًا فِي الْهَاجِرَةِ جَالِسًا فِي ظِلِّ بَيْتٍ عَلَيْهِ بُرْدَانِ أَخْضَرَانِ، وَشَعْرُهُ، ، وَفْرَةٌ، وَبِرَأْسِهِ رَدْعٌ مِنْ حِنَّاءٍ "، قَالَ: فَقَالَ لِي أَبِي: أَتَدْرِي مَنْ هَذَا؟ فَقُلْتُ: لَا. قَالَ: هَذَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَهُ (١)، •

It is narrated from Abu Rimthah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I presented myself before the Prophet (ﷺ) along with my father. We saw that the Prophet (ﷺ) was sitting in the shade of the Ka'bah and he was wearing two green sheets. The hair of the Prophet (ﷺ) was thick and there was a trace of henna on his head. My father asked, "Do you know who he is?" I said, "No." He told me, "This is the Prophet (ﷺ)..." Then the narrator mentioned the entire hadith.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ (٢) ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُخَرِّمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سُفْيَانَ الْحِمْيَرِيُّ سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، عَنْ غَيْلَانَ بْنِ جَامِعٍ، عَنْ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ، عَنْ أَبِي رِمْثَةَ، قَالَ: " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْضِبُ بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَالْكَتَمِ، وَكَانَ شَعْرُهُ يَبْلُغُ كَتِفَيْهِ أَوْ مَنْكِبَيْهِ " (٣)، ، •

It is narrated from Abu Rimtha (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to dye (his hair) with henna and katam, and his blessed hair would reach up to his shoulders.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ (١) ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبْجَرَ، عَنْ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ، عَنْ أَبِي رِمْثَةَ التَّمِيمِيِّ (٢) ، قَالَ: " أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَعَ أَبِي، وَلَهُ لِمَّةٌ بِهَا رَدْعٌ مِنْ حِنَّاءٍ " وَذَكَرَهُ (٣)، •

The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ (٤) ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ الدُّورِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ، قَالَ:، ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو رِمْثَةَ، أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَهُ ابْنٌ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: " ابْنُكَ هَذَا؟ " قَالَ: نَعَمْ. قَالَ: " أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ، وَلَا تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ " (١)، •
