Hadith of a man from a man

حَدِيثُ رَجُلٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ، ١٦٥٩٦ - حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُنِيبٍ (١) ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ قَالَ: بَلَغَ رَجُلًا (٢) مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " مَنْ سَتَرَ أَخَاهُ الْمُسْلِمَ فِي الدُّنْيَا سَتَرَهُ اللهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ "، فَرَحَلَ إِلَيْهِ وَهُوَ بِمِصْرَ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنِ الْحَدِيثِ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ سَتَرَ أَخَاهُ الْمُسْلِمَ فِي الدُّنْيَا سَتَرَهُ اللهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ "، قَالَ: وَأَنَا قَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ (٣)، ،

It is narrated from a Companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever conceals the faults of his Muslim brother in this world, Allah will conceal his faults on the Day of Resurrection. When another Companion learned of this hadith, he set out on a journey to the first Companion, who was residing in Egypt. Upon reaching there, he asked him: Did you hear the Prophet (ﷺ) say this? He replied in the affirmative. The Companion who had traveled then said: I too heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say this.
