Hadith of a man who served the Prophet (peace be upon him)

حَدِيثُ رَجُلٍ خَدَمَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ١٦٥٩٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي بَكْرُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ رَجُلٌ خَدَمَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَمَانِ سِنِينَ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قُرِّبَ إِلَيْهِ طَعَامُهُ يَقُولُ: " بِسْمِ اللهِ "، وَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ طَعَامِهِ قَالَ: " اللهُمَّ أَطْعَمْتَ وَأَسْقَيْتَ، وَأَغْنَيْتَ وَأَقْنَيْتَ، وَهَدَيْتَ وَأَحْيَيْتَ، فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى مَا أَعْطَيْتَ " (١)، ،

It is narrated from a servant of the Prophet (peace be upon him) who served the Prophet (peace be upon him) for eight years, that when food was presented before the Prophet (peace be upon him), he would begin by saying "Bismillah" (In the name of Allah), and when he finished eating, he would recite this supplication: "O Allah! You have fed and given drink, granted sufficiency and provision, You have given guidance and life; all praise is due to You for Your bounties."
