The rest of the hadith of Khuraym ibn Fatik (may Allah be pleased with him)

بَقِيَّةُ حَدِيثِ خُرَيْمِ بْنِ فَاتِكٍ (١)، ١٦٠٦٥ - حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ (٢) مَيْسَرَةَ بْنِ حَلْبَسٍ (٣) ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي، سَمِعَ خُرَيْمَ بْنَ فَاتِكٍ الْأَسَدِيَّ، يَقُولُ: " أَهْلُ الشَّامِ سَوْطُ اللهِ فِي الْأَرْضِ، يَنْتَقِمُ بِهِمْ مِمَّنْ يَشَاءُ، كَيْفَ يَشَاءُ، وَحَرَامٌ عَلَى مُنَافِقِيهِمْ أَنْ يَظْهَرُوا عَلَى مُؤْمِنِيهِمْ، وَلَنْ يَمُوتُوا إِلَّا هَمًّا أَوْ غَيْظًا أَوْ حُزْنًا " (٤)، ،

Khuraym bin Fatik says that the people of Sham are Allah’s whip on the earth; through them, Allah takes revenge on whomever He wills. And it has been made forbidden for their hypocrites to prevail over their believers. Whenever they die, they will die in a state of grief, anger, and distress.

حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا طَيَّافٌ الْإِسْكَنْدَرَانِيُّ، عَنِ ابْنِ شَرَاحِيلَ بْنِ بَكِيلٍ، عَنِ أَبِيهِ شَرَاحِيلَ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ: إِنَّ لِي أَرْحَامًا بِمِصْرَ يَتَّخِذُونَ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأَعْنَابِ، قَالَ: وَفَعَلَ ذَلِكَ أَحَدٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ؟ قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: " لَا تَكُونُوا بِمَنْزِلَةِ الْيَهُودِ حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الشُّحُومُ فَبَاعُوهَا، وَأَكَلُوا أَثْمَانَهَا " قَالَ: قُلْتُ: مَا تَقُولُ فِي رَجُلٍ أَخَذَ عُنْقُودًا فَعَصَرَهُ، فَشَرِبَهُ؟ قَالَ: " لَا بَأْسَ " فَلَمَّا سَرَتْ (١) قَالَ: " مَا حَلَّ شُرْبُهُ حَلَّ، ، بَيْعُهُ " (١)،

Sharahil says that I asked Ibn Umar that some of my relatives who live in Egypt make wine from grapes. He asked in astonishment, "Do Muslims also do this?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Do not become like the Jews, for fat was made unlawful for them, so they sold it and consumed its price." I asked him, "What is your opinion about a person who holds a bunch of grapes, squeezes it, and immediately drinks its juice?" He replied, "There is no harm in it." When I was about to leave, he said, "Whatever is lawful to drink, its trade is also lawful."

حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ رَبِّهِ (٢) بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، رَفَعَهُ قَالَ: " أَيُّمَا شَجَرَةٍ أَظَلَّتْ عَلَى قَوْمٍ فَصَاحِبُهُ بِالْخِيَارِ، مِنْ قَطْعِ مَا أَظَلَّ (٣) أَوْ أَكْلِ ثَمَرِهَا " (٤)، ،

Makhool says: If a tree casts its shade over a people, its owner has the right to remove its shade or to eat its fruit.
