Hadith of Abdullah ibn Abi al-Jad'a' (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَذْعَاءِ (١)، ١٥٨٥٧ - حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، قَالَ: جَلَسْتُ إِلَى رَهْطٍ أَنَا رَابِعُهُمْ، بِإِيلِيَاءَ، فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " لَيَدْخُلَنَّ الْجَنَّةَ بِشَفَاعَةِ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي أَكْثَرُ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ " قُلْنَا: سِوَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: " سِوَايَ " قُلْتُ: أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، فَلَمَّا قَامَ قُلْتُ: مَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا: ابْنُ أَبِي الْجَذْعَاءِ (٢)، ،

Abdullah bin Shaqiq says that once I was sitting in Ilya with a group among whom I was the fourth person. During this, one of them started saying that I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: "Because of the intercession of one man from my Ummah, more people will enter Paradise than the number of Banu Tamim." We asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Will this intercession be other than your intercession?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Yes, it will be other than mine." I asked them, "Did you really hear this hadith from the Prophet (peace be upon him)?" They said, "Yes." When they stood up from the gathering, I asked the people, "Who is this?" They said, "This is our master Abdullah bin Abi Jud'an."

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَذْعَاءِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " لَيَدْخُلَنَّ الْجَنَّةَ بِشَفَاعَةِ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي أَكْثَرُ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ " فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، سِوَاكَ؟ قَالَ: " سِوَايَ سِوَايَ " قُلْتُ: آنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: أَنَا سَمِعْتُهُ (١)، ،

Abdullah bin Jud’an says: I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying that because of the intercession of one man from my Ummah, more people will enter Paradise than the number of Banu Tamim. We asked: O Messenger of Allah! Will this intercession be other than your intercession? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Yes, it will be other than mine. I asked him: Did you really hear this hadith from the Prophet (ﷺ)? He said: Yes.
