Hadith of Habbah and Suwa' sons of Khalid (may Allah be pleased with them)

حَدِيثُ حَبَّةَ، وَسَوَاءَ ابْنَيْ خَالِدٍ، ١٥٨٥٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ سَلَّامِ أَبِي شُرَحْبِيلَ، عَنْ حَبَّةَ، وَسَوَاءَ، ابْنَيْ خَالِدٍ، قَالَا (١) : دَخَلْنَا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُصْلِحُ شَيْئًا فَأَعَنَّاهُ، فَقَالَ: " لَا تَأْيَسَا مِنَ الرِّزْقِ مَا تَهَزَّزَتْ رُءُوسُكُمَا، فَإِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ تَلِدُهُ أُمُّهُ أَحْمَرَ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ قِشْرَةٌ، ثُمَّ يَرْزُقُهُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " (٢)، ،

Habbah and Suwa’, who are the sons of Khalid, say that once we presented ourselves before the Prophet (ﷺ) at a time when he was fixing something, but it had tired him. He said to us: As long as your heads can move, never despair of sustenance, because when a person is born by his mother, he is like a chick that has no shell on it, and after that Allah grants him sustenance.

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ سَلَّامٍ أَبِي شُرَحْبِيلَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ حَبَّةَ، وَسَوَاءَ، ابْنَيْ خَالِدٍ، يَقُولَانِ: أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَهُوَ يَعْمَلُ عَمَلًا - أَوْ يَبْنِي بِنَاءً - فَأَعَنَّاهُ عَلَيْهِ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ دَعَا لَنَا وَقَالَ: " لَا تَأْيَسَا مِنَ الْخَيْرِ مَا تَهَزَّزَتْ رُءُوسُكُمَا، إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ تَلِدُهُ أُمُّهُ أَحْمَرَ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ قِشْرَةٌ، ثُمَّ يُعْطِيهِ اللهُ وَيَرْزُقُهُ " (١)، ،

Habbah and Suwa’, who are the sons of Khalid, say that once we visited the Prophet (ﷺ) while he was fixing something, but it had tired him. He said to us: As long as your heads can move, never despair of sustenance, because when a person is born by his mother, he is like a chick without any shell on him. After that, Allah provides him with sustenance.
