English translation

It is narrated from Abu Rimthah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I went with my father to the service of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ). On the way, we met the Noble Prophet (ﷺ). My father told me, "This is the Noble Prophet (ﷺ)." I used to think of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) as something not resembling human beings, but he was a perfect human. He had long hair, and there was a trace of henna on his blessed head. He was wearing two green garments, and his shins are still before my eyes. After a little while, the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) asked my father, "Who is this with you?" He said, "By Allah, this is my son." At this, the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) smiled because my father had sworn an oath. Then the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "You have spoken the truth. Remember, he is not responsible for any of your crimes, and you are not responsible for any of his crimes." And he recited this verse: "No bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another."
