English translation

It is narrated from Abu Rimthah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, when I was a boy, I went with my father to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). We reached a man at noon who was sitting in the shade of his house. He was wearing two green sheets, his hair was long, and there was a trace of henna on his head. When I looked at him, my father asked, "Do you know who this is?" I said, "No." My father told me, "This is the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)." We talked for quite a while. Then my father said, "I belong to a family of physicians. Please show me this part of your shoulder. If it is an abscess, I will press it, otherwise I will tell you." The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, "Its healer is the One who made it." After a little while, the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) looked at me and asked my father, "Is this your son?" He said, "Yes, by the Lord of the Ka'bah." The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, "Really?" He said, "I bear witness to it." At this, the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) smiled, because my appearance resembled my father. Then my father swore an oath to this effect. Then the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, "Remember! He is not responsible for any of your sins, and you are not responsible for any of his sins."
