Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَتَصَدَّقَ بِمَالِي بِثَمْغٍ قَالَ: " احْبِسْ أَصْلَهُ وَسَبِّلْ ثَمَرَتَهُ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! I wish to give my property at a place called Thamgh in charity." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Keep its original (property) with yourself and give its profits in charity."
