Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ مَا صُمْتُ عَرَفَةَ قَطُّ، " وَلَا صَامَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَلَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَلَا عُمَرُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I have never observed the fast on the Day of Arafah, nor did any of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Abu Bakr, or Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) observe the fast on that day.
