حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، أَخْبَرَنِي الْمِنْهَالُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ: خَرَجْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فِي طَرِيقٍ مِنْ طُرُقِ الْمَدِينَةِ، فَرَأَى فِتْيَانًا قَدْ نَصَبُوا دَجَاجَةً يَرْمُونَهَا لَهُمْ كُلُّ خَاطِئَةٍ، فَقَالَ: مَنْ فَعَلَ هَذَا؟ وَغَضِبَ، فَلَمَّا رَأَوْا ابْنَ عُمَرَ تَفَرَّقُوا، ثُمَّ قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " لَعَنَ اللهُ مَنْ يُمَثِّلُ بِالْحَيَوَانِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Saeed bin Jubair says that once I was passing along a road in Madinah with Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), when we saw that some youths had tied up a chicken and were using it for target practice. At this, Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) became angry and said, "Who is doing this?" Immediately, all the youths scattered to the right and left. Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cursed the person who mutilates an animal."
