حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ: سُئِلَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ؟ فَقَالَ: " لَمْ يَصُمْهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، وَلَا عُمَرُ، وَلَا عُثْمَانُ " (٢)، ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، (١) عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: " لَمْ يَصُمْهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَلَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، وَلَا عُمَرُ، وَلَا عُثْمَانُ " يَعْنِي يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ (٢)،
Translation
English translation
Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) was asked about fasting on the Day of Arafah, so he replied that neither the Prophet (ﷺ) nor any of the three caliphs observed a fast on that day.
