حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ أَبِي الصَّهْبَاءِ، حَدَّثَنَا سَالِمٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْفَجْرَ، ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ فَاسْتَقْبَلَ مَطْلِعَ الشَّمْسِ، فَقَالَ " أَلَا إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَاهُنَا أَلَا إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَاهُنَا حَيْثُ يَطْلُعُ قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ " (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) offered the Fajr prayer, and after saying the salam, he stood facing the direction of the rising sun. The Prophet (ﷺ) pointed towards the east with his hand and said twice: "The trial will emerge from here, from where the horn of Satan rises."
