Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ - قَالَ: هَمَّامٌ فِي كِتَابِي - قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا وَضَعْتُمْ مَوْتَاكُمْ فِي الْقَبْرِ فَقُولُوا: بِسْمِ اللهِ وَعَلَى سُنَّةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "When you lower your dead into the grave, say «بسم الله ، وعلي سنة رسول الله»."
