حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ قَالَ: كُنْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فِي حَلْقَةٍ قَالَ: فَسَمِعَ رَجُلًا فِي حَلْقَةٍ أُخْرَى وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: لَا وَأَبِي، فَرَمَاهُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ بِالْحَصَى فَقَالَ: إِنَّهَا كَانَتْ يَمِينَ عُمَرَ فَنَهَاهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْهَا وَقَالَ: " إِنَّهَا شِرْكٌ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Sa’d bin Ubaidah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I was sitting in a gathering with Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both). Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) heard a man in another gathering swear by «لا وابي», so he threw pebbles at him and said: Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to swear like this, but the Prophet (ﷺ) forbade him from this, saying that it is shirk (associating partners with Allah).
