Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، (١) عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: " فَرَضَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَدَقَةَ الْفِطْرِ عَلَى الصَّغِيرِ وَالْكَبِيرِ، وَالْحُرِّ وَالْمَمْلُوكِ، صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ شَعِيرٍ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) that the Prophet (ﷺ) prescribed one sa’ of dates or one sa’ of barley as Zakat al-Fitr upon every young and old, free and slave.
