حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ذُؤَيْبٍ، مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى، قَالَ: خَرَجْنَا مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ إِلَى الْحِمَى، فَلَمَّا غَرُبَتِ الشَّمْسُ، هِبْنَا أَنْ نَقُولَ لَهُ: الصَّلَاةَ، حَتَّى ذَهَبَ بَيَاضُ الْأُفُقِ، وَذَهَبَتْ فَحْمَةُ الْعِشَاءِ، " نَزَلَ، فَصَلَّى بِنَا ثَلَاثًا وَاثْنَتَيْنِ "، وَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا، وَقَالَ: " هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَلَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Ismail bin Abdur Rahman of Banu Asad bin Abdul Uzza says that once we went out with Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) for the pasture. The sun had set, and when the darkness of night spread, he dismounted and led us first in three and then two rak'ahs (units of prayer), and turning towards us said: I have seen the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) doing likewise.
