حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: " سَبَّقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْخَيْلَ، فَأَرْسَلَ مَا ضُمِّرَ مِنْهَا مِنَ الْحَفْيَاءِ، وَأَرْسَلَ مَا لَمْ يُضَمَّرْ مِنْهَا مِنْ ثَنِيَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ، إِلَى مَسْجِدِ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ " (٢)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) held a horse race. Among them, the horses that were lean were made to compete from "Hafya" to Thaniyyat al-Wada', and those that were not lean-bodied had their race from Thaniyyat al-Wada' to the mosque of Banu Zuraiq.
