حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا كَهْمَسٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: جَاءَتْ فَتَاةٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ أَبِي زَوَّجَنِي ابْنَ أَخِيهِ يَرْفَعُ بِي خَسِيسَتَهُ " فَجَعَلَ الْأَمْرَ إِلَيْهَا " قَالَتْ: فَإِنِّي قَدْ أَجَزْتُ مَا صَنَعَ أَبِي، وَلَكِنْ أَرَدْتُ، ، أَنْ تَعْلَمَ النِّسَاءُ أَنْ لَيْسَ لِلْآبَاءِ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that a young woman came to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! My father has married me to his nephew, and he speaks lowly things to me." The Prophet (ﷺ) gave her the authority over her own matter. So she said, "I accept the marriage that my father has arranged, but I want you to inform women that a father has no right to compel in this matter."
