حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ حَفْصٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ: قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: " مَا يَقْطَعُ الصَّلَاةَ؟ " قَالَ: فَقُلْنَا: الْحِمَارُ، وَالْمَرْأَةُ، قَالَ: فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: " إِنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ إِذًا لَدَابَّةُ سُوءٍ، لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، مُعْتَرِضَةً كَاعْتِرَاضِ الْجَنَازَةِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي "، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ فِيمَا أَظُنُّ (١)،
Translation
English translation
Once, Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) asked Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him) this question: "By which things is the prayer invalidated?" Urwah says, "We replied, 'By a woman and a donkey passing in front of the one praying.'" She said, "Then a woman would be a very bad animal! I have seen the time when I would be lying in front of the Prophet (ﷺ) like a corpse, and the Prophet (ﷺ) would continue to pray."
