Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ، كَيْفَ كَانَ يَصْنَعُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ فَقَالَتْ: " كَانَ يَكُونُ فِي مِهْنَةِ أَهْلِهِ، فَإِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ خَرَجَ فَصَلَّى " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
Aswad says: I asked Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), "What did the Prophet (ﷺ) do in his house?" She replied: He used to be engaged in small household chores with his family, and when the time for prayer came, he would go out for the prayer.
