English translation

It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to say: When the time came for a prophet's soul to be taken, after their soul was taken, their reward was shown to them, then it was returned and they were given the choice whether to be returned to that reward and joined with it (or to be sent back to the world). I had firmly preserved this saying of the Prophet (ﷺ) in my mind. During his final illness, I was supporting the Prophet (ﷺ) against my chest when suddenly I saw that his neck drooped. I thought that perhaps the Prophet (ﷺ) had departed from this world. Then I remembered what the Prophet (ﷺ) had said. So now when I looked at the Prophet (ﷺ), he raised his neck and looked upwards. I understood that now the Prophet (ﷺ) would not prefer us in any case. Thus, the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "With the Highest Companion in Paradise." The Divine command is: "With those upon whom Allah has bestowed His favor, such as the Prophets (peace be upon them) and the truthful ones."
