حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ: قِيلَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: الرَّجُلُ يُحِبُّ الْقَوْمَ وَلَمَّا يَلْحَقْ بِهِمْ. قَالَ: " الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) and asked: If a person loves a people but cannot reach them, what is the ruling? The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: A person will be with those whom he loves.
