It is narrated from Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: You should seek permission three times; if it is granted, that is very good, and if any one of you has sought permission three times and does not receive a reply, then he should return.
