Musnad Ahmad Hadith 15192

It is narrated from Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to present himself before the people in the fields of Mina and Arafat and would say to them: "Is there any man who will take me to his people? For the Quraysh have prevented me from conveying the words and message of my Lord to the people." During this, a man from Hamdan came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and the Prophet asked him: "To which tribe do you belong?" He said: "To Hamdan." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, asked him: "Do you have any status or rank among your people?" He said: "Yes." Then a doubt arose in his heart that perhaps his people might humiliate him, so he said to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "First, I will go to my people and inform them, then next year I will come to you." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Very well." So he left, and before the next year, in the month of Rajab itself, a delegation of the Ansar arrived.
