حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ، حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا مَاعِزٌ التَّمِيمِيُّ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " عَرْشُ إِبْلِيسَ فِي الْبَحْرِ، يَبْعَثُ سَرَايَاهُ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ يَفْتِنُونَ النَّاسَ، فَأَعْظَمُهُمْ عِنْدَهُ مَنْزِلَةً، أَعْظَمُهُمْ فِتْنَةً لِلنَّاسِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Iblis places his throne upon the water, then he sends out his armies. The one among them who causes the greatest tribulation is the closest to him in rank.
