Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ جَابِرًا، أَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الطِّيَرَةِ وَالْعَدْوَى شَيْئًا؟ قَالَ جَابِرٌ: سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: " كُلُّ عَبْدٍ طَائِرُهُ فِي عُنُقِهِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: Every servant's bird (record of deeds) will be hanging around his neck.
