Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " أَرْجُو أَنْ يَكُونَ مَنْ يَتَّبِعُنِي مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ رُبُعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ " قَالَ: فَكَبَّرْنَا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " أَرْجُو أَنْ يَكُونُوا ثُلُثَ النَّاسِ " قَالَ: فَكَبَّرْنَا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " أَرْجُو أَنْ، ، يَكُونُوا الشَّطْرَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet saying: I hope that on the Day of Resurrection, my followers—my Ummah—will constitute one fourth of all the people of Paradise. At this, we raised the slogan of Takbeer. Then he said: I hope that they will be one third of all the people. At this, we again raised the slogan of Takbeer. Then he said: I hope that they will be one half of all the people.
