حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّهُمْ غَزَوْا غَزْوَةً فِيمَا بَيْنَ مَكَّةَ وَالْمَدِينَةِ، فَهَاجَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحٌ شَدِيدَةٌ، حَتَّى دَفَعَتِ الرِّحَالَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " هَذَا لِمَوْتِ مُنَافِقِ "، (٣) فَرَجَعْنَا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ، فَوَجَدْنَاهُ مُنَافِقًا عَظِيمَ النِّفَاقِ قَدْ مَاتَ (٤)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, while the companions were participating in a jihad between Makkah and Madinah, a windstorm suddenly arose so strong that it carried away several people. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "This is a sign of the death of a hypocrite." When we reached Madinah, it was found that indeed a very prominent hypocrite had died.
