حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ جَابِرًا عَنِ الْعَقَبَةِ، فَقَالَ: شَهِدَهَا سَبْعُونَ، فَوَافَقَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ آخِذٌ بِيَدِهِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَخَذْتُ وَأَعْطَيْتُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Abu al-Zubair says that I asked Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) about the pledge of Aqabah: so he informed that on that occasion seventy men were present, they came to the Prophet (ﷺ) while Abbas was holding his hand. The Prophet (ﷺ) said that I have taken the pledge and given the promise.
