حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ بَعْدَ أَنْ رَجَعْنَا: " إِنَّ بِالْمَدِينَةِ لَأَقْوَامًا مَا سِرْتُمْ مَسِيرًا، وَلَا هَبَطْتُمْ وَادِيًا، إِلَّا وَهُمْ مَعَكُمْ، حَبَسَهُمُ الْمَرَضُ " (٢)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of returning from the Battle of Tabuk, I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying: "There are some people in Madinah who, whichever path you travel and whichever valley you cross, they are with you; only illness has kept them behind."
