Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " إِذَا كَفَّنَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ، فَلْيُحْسِنْ كَفَنَهُ إِنْ اسْتَطَاعَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying: When one of you gives a shroud to his brother, he should shroud him well.
