اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّیْ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْبَرَصِ، وَالْجُنُوْنِ، وَالْجُذَامِ، وَمِنْ سَیِّءِ الاَسْقَامِ

The general meaning of Allahumma inni A’uzu Bika Minal Barasi dua is O Allah! I seek refuge in You from leucoderma, madness, leprosy, and all bad diseases. The Prophet (ﷺ) asked for Allah’s protection from a number of specific diseases which are:
- Leucoderma: A skin disease that causes loss of skin pigmentation (melanin) that leads to skin whitening
- Madness: Mental health disorders, refers to a wide range of mental health conditions
- Leprosy: an infectious disease that causes severe, disfiguring skin sores and nerve damage in the arms, legs, and skin areas around your body.
- All bad diseases: These refer to serious, bad diseases: such as paralysis, tuberculosis, and chronic diseases, that are similar to diseases of this time such as cancer, AIDS, and others.
Our Prophet (ﷺ) did not seek refuge from all diseases because among them is what if the person prejudiced against himself with patience, they will diminish, such as fever, headache, and ophthalmia.
But for those chronic diseases, The person may not be safe from discontent and its impact may be strong on other matters like the relation with religion, and the friend, related people may flee from him.
