Rabbi Zidni ilma is a short but powerful dua -supplication- that Muslims recite to increase their degrees of knowledge and understanding. What is special about Rabbi Zidni ilma Dua is that is quoted from The Holy Quran in Surah Taha, verse 114th and there is nothing greater than the Words of Allah (S.W.T).
Muslims are encouraged to seek knowledge and as our Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Whoever takes a path upon which to obtain knowledge, Allah makes the path to Paradise easy for him.”[Jami At-Tirmidhi].

The Dua is divided as follows: Rabbi means ‘my Lord’ Zidny means ‘Increase me’ and ilma means ‘knowledge’ and combined it means “my Lord, Increase me in Knowledge”.

فَتَعَـٰلَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۗ وَلَا تَعْجَلْ بِٱلْقُرْءَانِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يُقْضَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ وَحْيُهُۥ ۖ وَقُل رَّبِّ زِدْنِى عِلْمًۭا ١١٤
FataAAala Allahualmaliku alhaqqu wala taAAjal bilqur-animin qabli an yuqda ilayka wahyuhu waqul rabbizidnee AAilma
So high [above all] is Allāh, the Sovereign,1 the Truth.2 And, [O Muḥammad], do not hasten with [recitation of] the Qur’ān before its revelation is completed to you, and say, “My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”
