Hadith of Habis al-Tamimi (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ حَابِسٍ التَّمِيمِيِّ (١)، ٢٠٦٧٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُبَارَكٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنِي حَيَّةُ التَّمِيمِيُّ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: " لَا شَيْءَ فِي الْهَامِ، وَالْعَيْنُ حَقٌّ، وَأَصْدَقُ الطِّيَرِ الْفَأْلُ " (٢)، ،

Hiyyah Tamimi's father says that he heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: "There is no reality in anything being inside the skull of the dead; the evil eye is true, and the truest omen is a good omen."
