Chapter 1

It is narrated from Muhammad bin Saifi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) came to us on the day of Ashura and said, "Have you fasted today?" Some replied in the affirmative and some in the negative. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Complete the rest of this day without eating or drinking," and ordered that the people of Madinah inform the surrounding people as well to complete their day without eating or drinking.
