The completion of the hadith of Sakhr al-Ghamidi (may Allah be pleased with him)

تَمَامُ حَدِيثِ صَخْرٍ الْغَامِدِيِّ (١)، ١٩٤٣٠ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ حَدِيدٍ الْبَجَلِيِّ، عَنْ صَخْرٍ الْغَامِدِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " اللهُمَّ بَارِكْ لِأُمَّتِي فِي بُكُورِهَا ". قَالَ: فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا بَعَثَ سَرِيَّةً بَعَثَهَا أَوَّلَ النَّهَارِ، وَكَانَ صَخْرٌ رَجُلًا تَاجِرًا، فَكَانَ لَا يَبْعَثُ غِلْمَانَهُ إِلَّا مِنْ أَوَّلِ النَّهَارِ، فَكَثُرَ مَالُهُ حَتَّى لَا يَدْرِيَ أَيْنَ يَضَعُ مَالَهُ (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Sakhr Ghamidi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) used to supplicate: "O Allah, bless my Ummah in their early hours." The Holy Prophet (ﷺ), whenever he sent out an army, would send it at the beginning of the day. The narrator of the hadith, Sakhr (may Allah be pleased with him), was a merchant; he also used to send his workers early in the morning. As a result, he acquired so much wealth and property that he did not know where to keep it.
