Hadith of Abu Juhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ (١)، ١٨٧٤٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَنَّهُ صَلَّى بِالْبَطْحَاءِ وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ عَنَزَةٌ، الظُّهْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَالْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، يَمُرُّ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ الْمَرْأَةُ وَالْحِمَارُ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) planted a spear in front of him in the valley of Batha and performed two rak'ahs of Zuhr and Asr, and women and donkeys kept passing in front of that spear.

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ حَكَمٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جُحَيْفَةَ، قَالَ: " خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ، فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ بِالْبَطْحَاءِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَالْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ عَنَزَةٌ وَتَوَضَّأَ، فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَأْخُذُونَ مِنْ فَضْلِ وَضُوئِهِ "، وَفِي حَدِيثِ عَوْنٍ يَمُرُّ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ الْمَرْأَةُ وَالْحِمَارُ (١)، ،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) planted a spear in front of him in the valley of Batha and offered two rak'ahs of Zuhr and Asr prayers, and women and donkeys kept passing in front of that spear.

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو جُحَيْفَةَ، " أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَكَانَ أَشْبَهَ النَّاسِ بِهِ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ " (١)، ،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Noble Prophet (ﷺ). The one who most resembled the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) was Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him).

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ، وَعُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: " صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْأَبْطَحِ الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ عَنَزَةٌ، قَدْ أَقَامَهَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، يَمُرُّ مِنْ وَرَائِهَا النَّاسُ وَالْحِمَارُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ " (١)،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Noble Prophet (ﷺ). The one who most closely resembled the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) was Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him).

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ فِي حُلَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ، فَرَكَزَ عَنَزَةً، فَجَعَلَ يُصَلِّي إِلَيْهَا بِالْبَطْحَاءِ، يَمُرُّ مِنْ وَرَائِهَا الْكَلْبُ وَالْحِمَارُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) dressed in a red garment, offered two rak'ahs of Zuhr and Asr prayers in the valley of Batha, having planted a spear in front of him, and women and donkeys kept passing in front of that spear.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ وَهْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ السُّوَائِيِّ قَالَ: " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى بِالْأَبْطَحِ الْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ قَدَّمَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ عَنَزَةً بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ مَارَّةِ الطَّرِيقِ، وَرَأَيْتُ الشَّيْبَ بِعَنْفَقَتِهِ أَسْفَلَ مِنْ شَفَتِهِ السُّفْلَى " (١)،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) planted a spear in front of him in the valley of Batha and performed two rak'ahs of Zuhr and Asr. And I saw a few white hairs in the lower lip beard of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ).

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى بِالْأَبْطَحِ صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) offered two rak'ahs of Zuhr and Asr prayers in the valley of Batha, having planted a spear in front of him.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْأَقْمَرِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو جُحَيْفَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا آكُلُ مُتَّكِئًا " (١)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: I do not eat while reclining.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ وَهْبٍ السُّوَائِيِّ، " أَنَّهُ صَلَّى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْأَبْطَحِ الْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ " (١)،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) offered two rak'ahs of Zuhr and Asr prayers in the valley of Batha, having planted a spear in front of him.

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَوْنُ بْنُ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ قَالَ: " رَأَيْتُ أَبِي، اشْتَرَى حَجَّامًا، فَأَمَرَ بِالْمَحَاجِمِ فَكُسِرَتْ، قَالَ: فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ؟ فَقَالَ: " إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ ثَمَنِ الدَّمِ، وَثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ، وَكَسْبِ الْبَغِيِّ، وَلَعَنَ الْوَاشِمَةَ، وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةَ، وَآكِلَ الرِّبَا وَمُوكِلَهُ، وَلَعَنَ الْمُصَوِّرَ " (٢)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،

Awn bin Abi Juhaifah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I saw my father buy a slave who performed cupping, then he ordered that the cupping instruments be broken. I asked him about this, so he said that the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) forbade the price of blood, the price of a dog, and the earnings of a prostitute, and he cursed the woman who tattoos and the one who gets tattooed, the one who consumes usury and the one who gives it, and the image-maker.

حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، أَخْبَرَنِي الْحَكَمُ، عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ قَالَ: " خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ، قَالَ: فَتَوَضَّأَ، فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَتَمَسَّحُونَ بِفَضْلِ وَضُوئِهِ، فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ عَنَزَةٌ " (١)،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day at noon the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) came out and performed ablution. People began to rub the leftover water of his ablution on their bodies. Then the Noble Prophet planted a spear in front of him and led two rak'ahs of Zuhr prayer.

حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ وَهْبٍ وَهُوَ أَبُو جُحَيْفَةَ قَالَ: " أَمَّنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِنًى، فَرَكَزَ عَنَزَةً لَهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، فَصَلَّى بِنَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) led us in two rak‘ahs of prayer in the valley of Mina, having planted a spear in front of him.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ وَيَدُورُ، وَأَتَتَبَّعُ فَاهُ هَاهُنَا وَهَاهُنَا وَأُصْبُعَاهُ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ، قَالَ: " وَرَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي قُبَّةٍ لَهُ حَمْرَاءَ أُرَاهَا مِنْ أَدَمٍ " قَالَ: فَخَرَجَ بِلَالٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ بِالْعَنَزَةِ فَرَكَزَهَا، " فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "، قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ: وَسَمِعْتُهُ بِمَكَّةَ قَالَ: بِالْبَطْحَاءِ، يَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ الْكَلْبُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ وَالْحِمَارُ، وَعَلَيْهِ حُلَّةٌ حَمْرَاءُ، كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى بَرِيقِ سَاقَيْهِ " (١) قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: " نُرَاهَا حِبَرَةً "، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) giving the call to prayer; he was turning around, sometimes facing this way and sometimes that way, and during this he had his fingers in his ears. At that time, the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was in a red tent, which was probably made of leather. Then Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) came out carrying a spear and planted it in front of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), and the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) began to lead the prayer. During this, dogs, women, and donkeys kept passing in front of him. At that time, the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was wearing a red outfit, and it seems as if the whiteness and shine of the Prophet’s (ﷺ) shins are still before my eyes and I am seeing it.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَوْنُ بْنُ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: " رَأَيْتُ قُبَّةً حَمْرَاءَ مِنْ أَدَمٍ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَرَأَيْتُ بِلَالًا خَرَجَ بِوَضُوءٍ لِيَصُبَّهُ فَابْتَدَرَهُ النَّاسُ، فَمَنْ أَخَذَ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا تَمَسَّحَ بِهِ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا أَخَذَ مِنْ بَلَلِ يَدِ صَاحِبِهِ، وَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، خَرَجَ فِي حُلَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ مُشَمِّرًا، وَرَأَيْتُ بِلَالًا أَخْرَجَ عَنَزَةً، فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، إِلَيْهَا يَمُرُّ مِنْ وَرَائِهَا الدَّوَابُّ وَالنَّاسُ " (١)، ،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw a tent of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) which was made of leather and was red in color, and I saw Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) bringing water for ablution. People rushed towards it; whoever got some of that water applied it to himself, and whoever did not get any took moisture from his companion's hands. Then I saw that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) came out wearing a red outfit, raising his lower garment above his shins. Then Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) came out carrying a spear and fixed it in front of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), and the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) began to lead the prayer, and dogs, women, and donkeys kept passing in front of him.

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى إِلَى عَنَزَةٍ أَوْ شَبَهِهَا، وَالطَّرِيقُ مِنْ وَرَائِهَا " (١)،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led the prayer with a spear planted in front of him, while there was a passageway ahead of it.

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنِي عَوْنُ بْنُ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: " أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْأَبْطَحِ وَهُوَ فِي قُبَّةٍ لَهُ حَمْرَاءَ ". قَالَ: فَخَرَجَ بِلَالٌ بِفَضْلِ وَضُوئِهِ، فَمِنْ نَاضِحٍ وَنَائِلٍ، قَالَ: فَأَذَّنَ بِلَالٌ، فَكُنْتُ أَتَتَبَّعُ فَاهُ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا، يَعْنِي يَمِينًا وَشِمَالًا، قَالَ: ثُمَّ رُكِزَتْ لَهُ عَنَزَةٌ، قَالَ: " فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَيْهِ جُبَّةٌ لَهُ حَمْرَاءُ، أَوْ حُلَّةٌ حَمْرَاءُ، فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى بَرِيقِ سَاقَيْهِ، فَصَلَّى بِنَا إِلَى الْعَنَزَةِ الظُّهْرَ أَوِ الْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، تَمُرُّ الْمَرْأَةُ وَالْكَلْبُ وَالْحِمَارُ لَا، ، يُمْنَعُ، ثُمَّ لَمْ يَزَلْ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ حَتَّى أَتَى الْمَدِينَةَ "، وَقَالَ وَكِيعٌ مَرَّةً: فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَالْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ " (١)،

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ مَهْرِ الْبَغِيِّ " (٢)،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) forbade earnings from an immoral woman.

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ، وَسُفْيَانَ، وَابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْأَقْمَرِ،، ، عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا آكُلُ مُتَّكِئًا " (١)،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: I do not eat while reclining.

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ،، ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جُحَيْفَةَ يَقُولُ: " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي بِمِنًى رَكْعَتَيْنِ " (١)،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) performing two rak'ahs in Mina.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْأَقْمَرِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جُحَيْفَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا آكُلُ مُتَّكِئًا " (٢)،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: I do not eat while reclining.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، وَحَجَّاجٌ، أَخْبَرَنِي شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جُحَيْفَةَ قَالَ: " خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ (٣) إِلَى الْبَطْحَاءِ، فَتَوَضَّأَ وَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَالْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ عَنَزَةٌ "، وَزَادَ فِيهِ عَوْنٌ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، وَكَانَ يَمُرُّ مِنْ وَرَائِهَا الْحِمَارُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ "، قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ فِي الْحَدِيثِ: ثُمَّ قَامَ النَّاسُ، فَجَعَلُوا يَأْخُذُونَ يَدَهُ، فَيَمْسَحُونَ بِهَا وُجُوهَهُمْ، قَالَ: فَأَخَذْتُ يَدَهُ فَوَضَعْتُهَا عَلَى وَجْهِي، فَإِذَا هِيَ، ، أَبْرَدُ مِنَ الثَّلْجِ، وَأَطْيَبُ رِيحًا مِنَ الْمِسْكِ (١)،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) planted a spear in front of him in the valley of Batha and performed two rak'ahs each of Zuhr and Asr prayers. Women and donkeys kept passing in front of that spear. The narrator says that people stood up and began to take hold of the blessed hand of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) and rub it on their faces. I also did the same, and the blessed hand of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) was cooler than ice and more fragrant than musk.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ اشْتَرَى غُلَامًا حَجَّامًا، فَأَمَرَ بِمَحَاجِمِهِ، فَكُسِرَتْ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: أَتَكْسِرُهَا؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ، إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ ثَمَنِ الدَّمِ، وَثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ، وَكَسْبِ الْبَغِيِّ، وَلَعَنَ آكِلَ الرِّبَا، وَمُوكِلَهُ، وَالْوَاشِمَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةَ، وَلَعَنَ الْمُصَوِّرَ " (٢)،

Awn bin Abi Juhaifah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I saw my father buy a slave who performed cupping, then he ordered that the cupping instruments be broken. I asked him about this, so he said that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) forbade the price of blood, the price of a dog, and the earnings of a prostitute, and he cursed the woman who tattoos and the one who gets tattooed, the one who consumes usury and the one who gives it, and the image-maker.

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، وأَبُو كَامِلٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ،، ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ قَالَ: " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهَذِهِ مِنْهُ، وَأَشَارَ إِلَى عَنْفَقَتِهِ، بَيْضَاءُ "، فَقِيلَ لِأَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ: وَمِثْلُ مَنْ أَنْتَ يَوْمَئِذٍ؟ قَالَ: " أَبْرِي النَّبْلَ وَأَرِيشُهَا " (١)،

It is narrated from Abu Juhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), and these hairs of the Prophet (ﷺ)—he pointed towards the hairs below the lower lip—were white. Someone asked Juhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him), "How were you at that time?" He replied, "I used to carve arrows and attach feathers to them."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ وَهْبٍ السُّوَائِيِّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " بُعِثْتُ أَنَا وَالسَّاعَةُ كَهَذِهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ وَإِنْ كَادَتْ لَتَسْبِقُهَا "، وَجَمَعَ الْأَعْمَشُ السَّبَّابَةَ (٢) وَالْوُسْطَى. وَقَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ مَرَّةً: " إِنْ كَادَتْ لَتَسْبِقُنِي "، (٣)، ،

It is narrated from Wahb Suwai (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: I and the Hour (of Resurrection) have been sent like this (A’mash pointed with his index and middle fingers), it is possible that this (the Hour) may surpass it. It is narrated from Wahb Suwai (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: I and the Hour (of Resurrection) have been sent like this (A’mash pointed with his index and middle fingers), it is possible that this (the Hour) may surpass it. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain.

وحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو الْجَوَّابِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارٌ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي خَالِدٍ،، ، عَنْ جَابِرِ (١) بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: " بُعِثْتُ مِنَ السَّاعَةِ كَهَذِهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ "، (٢)،

And it was narrated to us by Abu al-Jawwab, who narrated to us from 'Ammar, from al-A'mash, from Abu Khalid, from Jabir, who said: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was saying: "I have been sent as close to the Hour as this is to this."

وقَالَ عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ (٣) السُّوَائِيِّ - قَالَ أَبِي -: حَدَّثَنَاهُ عَلِيُّ بْنُ بَحْرٍ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُشِيرُ بِإِصْبَعِهِ (٤)، ،

And Isa ibn Yunus narrated from Jabir ibn Samurah al-Suwa'i, Ali ibn Bahr narrated to us from him, he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, pointing with his finger.
