Chapter 1

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) brought a book to the service of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! While passing through Banu Qurayza, I met my brother who gave me some comprehensive sayings from the Torah in writing. Should I present them before you?" Upon this, the color of the blessed face of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) changed. I said to Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), "Do you not see the face of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ)?" Seeing this, Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "We are pleased with Allah as our Lord, with Islam as our religion, and with Muhammad (ﷺ) as our Messenger." Then that state of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) ended. He then said, "By Him in Whose hand is my soul, if Musa (Moses) were alive and you were to follow him, leaving me, you would surely go astray. You are my share among the nations, and I am your share among the Prophets."
