Hadith of 'Amr al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ عَمْرٍو الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، ١٧٧٨٢ - حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، أَنَّ الْقَاسِمَ ابْنَ (١) عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَهُمْ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ فُلَانٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، قَالَ: بَيْنَا هُوَ يَمْشِي قَدْ أَسْبَلَ إِزَارَهُ، إِذْ لَحِقَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَقَدْ أَخَذَ بِنَاصِيَةِ نَفْسِهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: " اللهُمَّ عَبْدُكَ، ابْنُ عَبْدِكَ، ابْنُ أَمَتِكَ " قَالَ عَمْرٌو: فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي رَجُلٌ حَمْشُ السَّاقَيْنِ، فَقَالَ: " يَا عَمْرُو، إِنَّ اللهَ قَدْ أَحْسَنَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ، يَا عَمْرُو " وَضَرَبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأَرْبَعِ أَصَابِعَ مِنْ كَفِّهِ الْيُمْنَى تَحْتَ رُكْبَةِ عَمْرٍو، فَقَالَ: " يَا عَمْرُو، هَذَا مَوْضِعُ الْإِزَارِ " ثُمَّ رَفَعَهَا، ثُمَّ ضَرَبَ بَأَرْبَعِ أَصَابِعِ مِنْ تَحْتِ الْأَرْبَعِ الْأُوَلِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " يَا عَمْرُو، هَذَا مَوْضِعُ الْإِزَارِ " ثُمَّ رَفَعَهَا (٢) ، ثُمَّ وَضَعَهَا (٣) تَحْتَ الثَّانِيَةِ فَقَالَ: " يَا عَمْرُو، هَذَا مَوْضِعُ الْإِزَارِ " (٤)، ،

It is narrated from Amr Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he was going somewhere, his lower garment was hanging below his ankles, and during this time the Prophet (ﷺ) came near him. The Prophet (ﷺ) was holding his forehead and saying, "O Allah! I am Your servant, the son of Your servant, the son of Your maidservant." I said, "O Messenger of Allah! (ﷺ) my shins are very thin." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Amr! Allah has created everything in the best manner." Then the Prophet (ﷺ) struck his four fingers below Amr's knee and said, "Amr! This is the place to tie the lower garment." Then placing his hand below that, he struck four fingers and said, "Amr! This is the place to tie the lower garment." Then for the third time, placing four fingers below that, he said the same sentence.
