Hadith of a man from his father (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ (١) (٢)، ١٥٤٢٠ - حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا مِنَّا، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: " بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَرِيَّةً كُنْتُ فِيهَا فَنَهَانَا أَنْ نَقْتُلَ الْعُسَفَاءَ وَالْوُصَفَاءَ " (٣)، ،

Ayyub says that I heard a man narrate from his father that the Prophet (peace be upon him) sent out an army in which I was also present. The Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade us from killing laborers and boys capable of serving.
