Hadith of Hubshi ibn Junadah As-Sululi (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ حُبْشِيِّ بْنِ جُنَادَةَ السَّلُولِيِّ (١)، ١٧٥٠٥ - حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، وَابْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ حُبْشِيِّ بْنِ جُنَادَةَ - قَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ: السَّلُولِيُّ وَكَانَ قَدْ شَهِدَ يَوْمَ حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ -، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " عَلِيٌّ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ، وَلَا يُؤَدِّي عَنِّي إِلَّا أَنَا أَوْ عَلِيٌّ " وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ: " لَا يَقْضِي عَنِّي دَيْنِي إِلَّا أَنَا أَوْ عَلِيٌّ " (٢)، ،

It is narrated from Hubshi bin Junadah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was among the participants of Hajjatul Wada, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Ali is from me and I am from him, and regarding this message (which was for the polytheists), either I myself can deliver it or Ali can deliver it."

حَدَّثَنَا الزُّبَيْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، مِثْلَهُ. وحَدَّثَنَاهُ يَعْنِي الزُّبَيْرِيَّ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ حُبْشِيِّ بْنِ جُنَادَةَ، مِثْلَهُ قَالَ: " فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي إِسْحَاقَ: أَيْنَ (١) سَمِعْتَ مِنْهُ؟ قَالَ: وَقَفَ عَلَيْنَا عَلَى فَرَسٍ لَهُ فِي مَجْلِسِنَا فِي جَبَّانَةِ السَّبِيعِ " (٢)، ،

The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، وَابْنُ (١) أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ حُبْشِيِّ بْنِ جُنَادَةَ - قَالَ يَحْيَى: وَكَانَ مِمَّنْ شَهِدَ حَجَّةَ الْوَدَاعِ -، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ ". قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ؟ قَالَ: " اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ ". قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ؟ قَالَ: اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ ". قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ؟ قَالَ (٢) فِي الثَّالِثَةِ: " وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ " (٣)،

It is narrated from Habshi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) while supplicating said: O Allah! Forgive those who shave their heads. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) submitted: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), pray for those who trim their hair as well. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) again supplicated for those who shave their heads, and on the third time, he supplicated for those who trim their hair.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ حُبْشِيِّ بْنِ جُنَادَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ سَأَلَ مِنْ، ، غَيْرِ فَقْرٍ، فَكَأَنَّمَا (١) يَأْكُلُ الْجَمْرَ " (٢)،

It is narrated from Habshi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever asks (begs) without poverty and need, he is eating the embers of Hell.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ حُبْشِيِّ بْنِ جُنَادَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ سَأَلَ مِنْ غَيْرِ فَقْرٍ " فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ (٣)،

The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.

حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ،، ، عَنْ حُبْشِيِّ بْنِ جُنَادَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " عَلِيٌّ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ، وَلَا يُؤَدِّي عَنِّي إِلَّا أَنَا أَوْ عَلِيٌّ " (١)،
