Hadith of Khawlah bint Qays (may Allah be pleased with her)

حَدِيثُ خَوْلَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسِ بْنِ قَهْدٍ (١)، ٢٧٣١٦ - حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ حَازِمٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ يُحَنَّسَ، أَنَّ حَمْزَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ لَمَّا قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ تَزَوَّجَ خَوْلَةَ بِنْتَ قَيْسِ بْنِ قَهْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّةَ مِنْ بَنِي النَّجَّارِ قَالَ: وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَزُورُ حَمْزَةَ فِي بَيْتِهَا، وَكَانَتْ تُحَدِّثُهُ عَنْهُ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحَادِيثَ، قَالَتْ: جَاءَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، بَلَغَنِي عَنْكَ أَنَّكَ تُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ لَكَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حَوْضًا مَا بَيْنَ كَذَا إِلَى كَذَا، قَالَ: " أَجَلْ، وَأَحَبُّ النَّاسِ إِلَيَّ أَنْ يَرْوَى مِنْهُ قَوْمُكِ "، قَالَتْ: فَقَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْهِ بُرْمَةً فِيهَا خُبْزَةٌ - أَوْ خَزِيرَةٌ (٢) - فَوَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدَهُ فِي الْبُرْمَةِ لِيَأْكُلَ فَاحْتَرَقَتْ أَصَابِعُهُ فَقَالَ: " حَسِّ "، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " ابْنُ آدَمَ إِنْ أَصَابَهُ الْبَرْدُ (٣) قَالَ: حَسِّ، وَإِنْ أَصَابَهُ الْحَرُّ (٤)، ، قَالَ: حَسِّ " (١)،

Yahnas says that when Amir Hamza (may Allah be pleased with him) came to Madinah Munawwarah, he married Khawlah bint Qais bin Qahd Ansariyyah, a woman from Banu Najjar........... Khawlah (may Allah be pleased with her) used to narrate the ahadith of the Prophet (ﷺ). She says that once the Prophet (ﷺ) came to our place, so I said: O Messenger of Allah! I have heard that you say that on the Day of Resurrection you will have a pond, whose distance will be from such-and-such area to such-and-such area? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "This is correct, and among those who will drink from it, the most beloved to me will be your people." Khawlah (may Allah be pleased with her) further says that then I presented a pot to the Prophet (ﷺ), in which there was khubzah or hareerah. The Prophet (ﷺ) put his hand in the pot to eat, but due to its heat, the fingers of the Prophet (ﷺ) got burnt, and from the mouth of the Prophet (ﷺ) «حس» came out. Then he said: If the son of Adam feels cold, even then he says «حس», and if he feels heat, even then he says «حس».

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ كَثِيرِ بْنِ أَفْلَحَ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُبَيْدَ سَنُوطَا يُحَدِّثُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ خَوْلَةَ بِنْتَ قَيْسٍ ـ وَقَدْ قَالَ: خَوْلَةُ (٢) الْأَنْصَارِيَّةُ الَّتِي كَانَتْ عِنْدَ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ـ تُحَدِّثُ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَى حَمْزَةَ بَيْتَهُ، فَتَذَاكَرُوا الدُّنْيَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "، ، إِنَّ (١) الدُّنْيَا خَضِرَةٌ حُلْوَةٌ، مَنْ أَخَذَهَا بِحَقِّهَا بُورِكَ لَهُ فِيهَا، وَرُبَّ مُتَخَوِّضٍ فِي مَالِ اللهِ وَمَالِ رَسُولِهِ لَهُ النَّارُ يَوْمَ يَلْقَى اللهَ (٢) " (٣)، ،

Khawlah bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her), who was the wife of Hamzah (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates that one day the Prophet (ﷺ) came to Hamzah (may Allah be pleased with him) and the topic of the world was mentioned. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The world is lush and sweet. Whoever acquires it with its due right, there will be blessing placed in it for him. And there are many who intrude upon the wealth of Allah and His Messenger, and on the Day they meet Allah, they will be entered into Hell."
