Chapter 1
Adisah bint Wahban says that once Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) also came to their house and stood at the door and greeted (with salam). Her father replied to him. Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) asked him: "Abu Muslim! How are you?" He said: "I am well." Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Why do you not come out with me to help me against these people?" He said that my beloved friend and your cousin, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), took a covenant from me that when tribulations appear among the Muslims, I should make a sword of wood. This is my sword, present here. If you wish, I am ready to go out with you taking this, and here it is hanging.
