Hadith of the sister of Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with her)

حَدِيثُ أُخْتِ حُذَيْفَةَ (١)، ٢٧٠١١ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ، عَنِ امْرَأَتِهِ، عَنْ أُخْتِ حُذَيْفَةَ، قَالَتْ: خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: " يَا مَعْشَرَ النِّسَاءِ، أَمَا لَكُنَّ فِي الْفِضَّةِ مَا تَحَلَّيْنَ، أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْكُنَّ امْرَأَةٌ تَحَلَّى ذَهَبًا تُظْهِرُهُ، إِلَّا عُذِّبَتْ بِهِ " (٢)،

It is narrated from the sister of Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) addressed us in a sermon and said: O group of women! Are silver ornaments not sufficient for you? Remember! Any woman among you who wears gold for display will be subjected to punishment on the Day of Resurrection.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ، عَنْ امْرَأَتِهِ، عَنِ أُخْتِ خُذَيْفَةَ، قَالَتْ: خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ (٣)، ،

The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ، عَنْ امْرَأَتِهِ، عَنْ أُخْتِ لِحُذَيْفَةَ (١) ، وَكُنَّ لَهُ (٢) أَخَوَاتٌ قَدْ أَدْرَكْنَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَتْ: خَطَبَنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: " يَا مَعْشَرَ النِّسَاءِ، أَلَيْسَ لَكُنَّ فِي الْفِضَّةِ مَا تَحَلَّيْنَ بِهِ؟ (٣) أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَيْسَتْ مِنْكُنَّ امْرَأَةٌ تَتَحَلَّى ذَهَبًا تُظْهِرُهُ، إِلَّا عُذِّبَتْ بِهِ " (٤)، ،
